tomboygirl: i agree...cant understand why you were sooo shocked bay.

everyone ive met from here looks worse than their pics, either weight, bad teeth,older,spottier..lol

maybe prepare yourself for the worst-and keep first date expectation down to a short coffee meet-also webcam if poss.

that poor women will think shes scarely ugly now lol

no she does not think she is ugly, i wrote her an email the next day explaining if she had been honest i would not have been shocked, and that she was attractive barf ok i did make a email lie to make her feel better, all part of the wonderfulness of me.teddybear

GOOD QUESTION - thanks for that.

The answer is not a yes or no to the question. It may be yes or no to any individual.

I think you did the right thing - considering the options could have included smashing fer face in :)

It seems an obvious deception and did you consider legal action ;)

What really matters at the time is your own feelings - it was silly of her to do what she did if she was serious and it may well be an indicator of 'her' - and best to steer clear of.

When we first meet, there's a good chance something won't be quite 'right' and it's individual opinion as to how much 'it' matters and whether the 'issue' can be resolved there and then. It seems you were dramatically repulsed on your incident and I guess your reaction was a good one - completely safe.

You phoning her later was perhaps a mistake - you obviously have more of a conscience than she does and you should it it to your past and hope you have more luck next time.

I think it should be made a rule that your first meet should be as you appear on the site - just in the bikini :)

Mike.

NeWildflower: I completely understand the need to be physically attracted to someone before anything else might ensue.. but I'm thinking most of you guys might want to lower the bar a little bit! Look in the mirror at least, before you continue to embarrass yourselves publicly by telling us in so many words what you think you deserve! HA! Good luck with that!

You seem to have completely missed the point. It's not size, it's lies and deception we're talking about here.

bay163: I had a date with a woman from another dating site, she said in her ad she was 5'6 135 pounds, she wanted to make sure I looked good, before I could meet her I had to send a pic from that day with no shirt on, just to make sure she was attracted to my body, that was important to her. Well her only pic was in a bathing suit and she was smokin hot, I could not wait to meet her, we met at a Starbucks in San Mateo, I hired a freaking baby sitter to be with my kids while I was out because it was 6pm and I was hoping this might go ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!! Well freaking well, when I walked into the Starbucks right on time she was starring right at me and standing about three feet away, I was shocked you see I recognized her face but she had gained over 50 freaking pounds, she said "are you Bay?" I said "No" turned and got back to my car asap without looking back. Then I called her from my cell phone and said I had an emergency and could not make it, she said "I know that was you" I said back "oh was that you, I did not recognize you, you look different than your pic".
Was I right to do that???

I understand why we all lie a little when it comes to certain things; it is our insecurities screaming out loud! However, we need to accept ourselves as we are and if serious about finding someone...we need to be ourselves-completely, be honest with ourselves, and let others accept us for exactly who we are! I completely agree that this woman should have been honest with you in the beginning; you might have really liked her anyway...I guess we'll never know now!dunno

I don't know if I would have walked away, but the seed of deceit is set. I would wonder about other things they told me....maybe they are nice, but nice only goes so far...confused uh oh
