They all have their merits, so I can't vote. It is fun to mix it up a little bit now and again though! I was in a big/capital city for over 20 years and now live in a small-to-large town. It feels like much less in comparison, but it is also a well-deserved break from the hustle and bustle for a minute!

I like to be able to feel like I'm a part of a community. I never felt that in a City. And to know Who We can trust, and who we can't, and why we can't.
i grew up in a mining town but moved out to the country 8 years ago, i think you need to go back to the town/city every so often to appreciate the countryside . but rearing kids has got to be better in the country
Lived in cities, villages and towns and you can't beat the village life in my opinion....especially when we owned the only pub in the village
Never forget the time when a 'townie' who had recently moved into the village started complaining about the noise of the cows, tractors and all things farming - the village is a farming community. He got one short shrift in no uncertain terms. Jerk.
I was born in London so know the city life- it still gives me a buzz to go back there - but Ive spent the last 17 years of my life living in a forest in a National park with the nearest neighbour 20 mins away- I love that too- peace and quiet.

I have lived all over the place, from major cities to small hamlets and find that a small town of 3-5k is probably the best in my opinion. Even large cities like say London are in the main Parochial, people tend to stay "in their own we bit" and seldom move out of their "Manor" as Londoners call it.
