I would make sure it was in a public place and not a long event. If ......then can extend time or meet again.

During the nice periods of time in the weather I like to meet outside and go for a walk in a park, around a lake or across a bridge. Many times I have met for lunch at a nice restaurant. Once I met at a Wall Street brokerage firm giving a talk on investments. If the local museum has a new exhibit I like walking and talking there.
Basically any place that is public and the lady feels comfortable and gives us an opportunity to see each other and to be able to talk and listen.

Keep it light and in the day time lunch or brunch and meet up no pick ups have own transportation

This is a little odd but some might try it. I had one of my better first dates meeting for Breakfast. Who doesn't like going out to breakfast? Sunday morning. lateish. Relaxed. talking. Had the rest of the day to do my own thing. No time to get nervous before hand. It was pretty cool.
