I enjoy both but of course I have my cat Hemi who is very precious to me. He has no front paws and I spoil him rotten but he always brings a smile or laugh into my life with his funny antics.

I love both, and grew up with both, but if I had to choose, I would say cats.
Cats are so independent, and their own people!
I have a tiger that I was bought as a kitten upon my arrival here. He is an absolute darling, and is called Frodo, after LotR. Nothing is nicer than feeling him curled up next to me; apart from D, of course..
Pigs...a dog looks up to you, a cat looks down on you and a pig looks you strait in the eye....great guard animals....
I love all animals but I truly ADORE dogs.... every time!

<----- the most famous CS dog EVER! At this point in my life I don't want any pets. If I want to take off out of town for a day or two, I don't want to burden anyone with having to watch them for me. IF I met someone and wanted to spend the night with them, I couldn't.
However I did love my Springer Spaniel when I was younger. He was my best freind and just big enought to take out in the yard and wrestle around without worrying if I would hurt him. If I was to ever get another pet it would have to be a bigger dog. Don't care much for those little pocket sized ankel biters.

My cats see fit to allow me to live with them.
I'd love a dog as well but my ginger monster is 14 now and has a touch of arthuritus.
Thus i have to put the existing pets 1st and hold off from getting a dog.

So this poll is still going - thanks everyone for your replies - interesting mix of likes and dislikes. I have my 3 pets, 2 dogs and a cat, and they are my life. More recently I have also found a 2 legged friend who loves my pets to pieces as well - life is grand!
Even though it can be a pain when you want to go away, I have managed so far at not too much cost to have them looked after really well and they barely miss me!
But I could not have a pet and dread growing old when in a home if they are not allowed.....
But for now
