todger: No babe its ok they just have a lot to learn in the cities they look after their animals ... But in the villages animals are used purely just for grafting ...and money isnt good for farmers. I could make a donkey work for me but it would be appreciated for its strength and dedication
Im going now where I hope to make a difference
That's good to know then. That they care for their pets in the towns
Also, good luck with educating the villagers, someday
ladyfingers: Depends. Hot dogs on a bun, sure. Veggie wieners. ycky.
One time when I was working, a guy from England came to our place of employment for a 6 month training.
The gals decided to show him around and told him that they were going to stop at a famous place in central NY for a 'hot dog'.
He about pooped his pants and jumped out of the car at that.
Found out later that back in those days, a pro from where he was from in England was called a 'hot dog'.
I’ve had veggie wieners in hot dogs instead of the normal meat wieners and found them quite tasty; in fact I didn’t notice that much of a change in taste but then I also add mustard, relish and raw onions to mine.
todger: So you wont put the cat among the chickens or in the UK its the cat among the pigeons
The chickens have nothing to fear from the cat, in fact it's the cat that is afraid of the chickens cause there's 17 of them. I've never seen her bother them or them bother her.
Toffeapple: Just for fun - might be a repeat poll, but here goes -
I love both cats and dogs - but dogs win most days....what about you?
I love all animals but my passion of all Gods creatures is the canine. It's not only a passion as it is also my profession (Canine Behavioural Consultant)... check out my photos in my profile... my son's sprawled out on the floor with some in Holiday Care earlier this year. I consider myself blessed to have the opportunity to work with the science of human and dog psychology every day... So in response to your thread I'll say that for me dogs rule
I love cats because they're soft and snuggly and they treat me like I'm the queen of the universe. It's good to be the queen of the universe. The cats tend to think that humans have aamzing super powers such as opposable thumbs and the ability to open snack bags.
elsson: I like dogs and cats but it is a no pets for me as I am too bloody lazy to give them the care. So I personally opt out of having one. My son wants a dog but refuse to let him have one as it would be a novelty and he would expect me or his mother to take care of it. Maybe when he is older. Hope that answers honestly your questio
Well done - but you have a SON!!! You look about 15! But thanks for the honesty. Pets do teach kids about responsibility, love and inevitably, loss and death. But I know what you mean about the parents end up having to take the burden - still it can be worthwhile for the whole family.
Happygolucky4u: I like most animals. Where pets are concerned I have two dogs and a new puppy. My dogs are getting really old and I have an elderly cat, as silly as it sounds I find comfort in their unconditional love.
Pets are the great healers and are just wonderful for anyone - don't think yourself silly at all - enjoy and embrace them - sometimes they are better than people....sadly.
Not surprisingly there are wide ranging views - I understand the cat vs dog issue, as I have owned both - cats a easier in many ways as they can look after themselves. Dogs are very damanding by comparison, but so beautiful and funny.
I love most other animals as well including chickens, birds, lizards, mice, rats, etc etc.
Thanks all, keep posting - you having interesting tales (or tails?) to tell!
BTW - I have 2 dogs - a toy poodle and a cavalier spaniel cross, and a cat - a LH grey mog.
Cats are okay I guess, but dogs are more useful and fun. You can't play catch with a cat or expect him to guard your home against intruders ( unless the cat in questions is a lion or tiger). Dogs are playful, extremely loyal and will fight to the death to protect you. They have helped men hunt, herd livestock and warn of dangers. They are used in police situations, rescue operations and of course security. Dogs in Haiti have helped find trapped people buried beneath the rumble.
JayinSD: Dogs. They may require more effort, but the more effort you put into something, the more worthwhile it is.
spoken like a pro love!! wish more humans would grasp what you say because it's absolutely true!! behind every good dog is a sensible human... trust me when i say i see many unstable dogs which keep me employed. hahaha!

I like all animals. I have a cat and a dog.
I defiately prefer cats. I have always been a cat person. I don't really believe in reincarnation, but if I did, I'd be sure I was a cat in a previous lifetime..
Its Cats for me.. I have a beaut female cat (Amber) who was badly treated by a neighbour.
I couldnt bear to see Amber crying at the front door for attention every day, she was often left for afew days sometimes four!with no-one else to care for her..so I spoke to the young lass, gave her an option..and now Amber is my shadow. I do love dogs as well, both are lovable and individual in their own unique way.
