leonardo5: Not only USA; Slovenia also took advantage of this extremely light ball (or weak wrists). Even so, I’m surprise by the few goals in this championship. At least so far.
Everyone is a bit cagey, the goals will come as the teams settle down.

Not everybody is allowed to enjoy the world cup, ref BBC
Somali militants have threatened football fans they will be publicly flogged - or worse - if they are caught watching the World Cup on TV.
Gangs of Islamists are reported to be patrolling the areas they control looking for people watching games.
Dedicated fans are watching matches in secret, or in the few areas controlled by government forces.
On Saturday militants killed two people as they attacked a house where people were watching a game.
Militant group Hizbul-Islam also arrested 10 others at the house north-east of the capital Mogadishu where fans were watching the game between Argentina and Nigeria.
'Mad men'
A spokesman for the group, Sheikh Mohamed Abdi Aros said the rest of Somalia should respect their ban on the World Cup.
I have one eye on the TV and the other on the door, and the sound turned down
"We are warning all the youth of Somalia not to dare watch these World Cup matches. It is a waste of money and time and they will not benefit anything or get any experience by watching mad men jumping up and down," he said.

Islamic radicals and fundamentists....
What massive collection of party poopers. World Cup is a great time for the world and humanity. It shows that countries can literally end conflicts like when Pele and Brazila side played in a friendly match in Central America. The two countries near it...had a border war going on....they suspended it while the match was held.
The Islamic extremist don't what their youths to spend money on fotbol...simply because they will have more money for RPGs, AK-47s, and drugs. That will kill their youth and our youths. If that is religious thinking. They need a serious rethink.
There is nothing wrong with a passion for as sport or world cup country, as long as it not harmful. Obviously leaders of Islam...forget.....that they played a game that all the world enjoys. bin Laden played a lot of fotbol in his day. Was considered one of the best players at his school.
You know what ticks them off about this World Cup? The US and UK are both in it. The two western countries that stepped into Iraq and Afghanistan side by side. You may have your own personal question to the wisdom of that. But when Islamic fundamentalist leaders see these two countries participate in anything on the international stage, it will draw their anger.
One of my college buddies.....was a Suadi.....we met on the soccer pitch.....he was a great player. In fact, his home town is very near the Yemen/Suadi border....were all the recent troubles are. Something else....the GK on that team....was from Israel, a Jew. We had players from all over the world on that side. And never had a problem with religion or nationalism. If you can do it on a team, you can do it in the world

I watch football for this 6 ish weeks every 4 years and get invovled, there is friendly banter with other nations that we would not normally happen. Theres a case of, during the first world war when a cease fire on Xmas day for a match between England and Germany that took place in No Mans Land.
