Never missed an England game in over 20 years and that was the worst performance i've ever seen. I think the time has come for common sense. Me and English football are pretty much finished. Another beer landlord............
Tomorrow will see me buying a Holland shirt. You've gotta love the dutch
RDM59: P.S. I saw at the end there where Maradona learnt his dirty tricks from ....
Where? I didn’t see any ‘mano de Dios’ in the video. Wow!!! The score was 9-3. 12 goals!!! Where do we can see ever again such amusing games like this one? Now I was dying bored seeing England- Algeria. I should have been using my time better than watch it
BoyracerBMW: Did England play badly?...or did Algeria just play well?
That is what I was wondering???
Germany loosing yesterday and playing with 10 men looked better! Allthough I think that match should be looked at again, but we are dealing with the FIFA, they are NEVER wrong, just remember the France - Ireland game.
Steve5721: I have heard that Stevie G is going knocking on his door. 4-4-2 isn't working.
But the manager didn't CHANGE anything at all ! He took Lennon off after an hour and replaced him with ... SWP - same type of player. With five minutes left he took off Barry and put on Crouch to go three (ish) up front, but whats gonna happen in five minutes ??
Mourinho has his knockers, but credit where its due - as Chelski manager if it wasnt working after twenty minutes he would change the formation and team if required - Capello seems incapable of changing anything .....
The Algerians put on an impressive display of very tight passing and excellent possession, they were cool under pressure, and they played with passion. It would have been totally understandable to see nerves and lack of confidence, playing against a team with such a reputation, but there was no lack of guts. I was impressed.

The only thing about Lennon is is that he always tries to come on the inside, SWP will take them on down the line.
I agree, 5 minutes is useless, I was thinking around the 70 minute mark, take off Heskey, bring on Crouchie, push Stevie G up front too.
Jose was good and still is. Brilliant football brain. England would never have him though for the same reasons they wouldn't have Cloughie.....he'd do it HIS way and he'd piss on the shoes of the big wigs!

Agreed, they played like a TEAM, first touch was good, passing crisp, and they all knew what they were supposed to be doing and when,,,, if they had a decent striker playing, we would have lost that game ...
But this was to be expected - we see it every year in the FA Cup third round, many of them are playing to get noticed by Premier League managers, its like their cup final, they play out of their skin... we KNOW how teams like this will play against England.
Slovenia will be exactly the same - the worrying thing from our perspective is that Slovenia seem to know where the goals are ...
