I obviously wanted England to win but that was a shameful display of shoddiness...
Other than that, I would've wanted Italy to win.... So out of the two you mention, not really bothered but promised someone I would be rooting for HIS team, so....

We have an octopus in Cape Town too, who predicts Spain will win! When I told my boys about Paul the psychic octopus, they decided to do a test run on our dogs. They put two plates on the floor with pieces of paper underneath - one Spain other Netherlands, and a piece of sausage on each plate. All three dogs ate from the Spain plate first!!! Hopefully that is a good sign?!!!!

The Spanish don't deserve it. Their teams have had a long history of choking in big tournaments, including the Confederations Cup last year, Euro 2008 being the only exception. Until South Africa tanked at this World Cup, the Spanish and Mexicans shared the ignominy of being the least successful World Cup host countries.
The only reason the Netherlands hasn't won a World Cup before is they have had the misfortune of constantly being matched with the best teams in every tournament. Look up their records at Euros and World Cups, and who they lost to: they've never been upset in a playoff game by a minnow, losing only to World Cup and Euro champions, or countries in the middle of their "golden generations" (the Czechs, Danes and Portuguese). And they beat the top teams just as often.
I expect a 3-1 final score for the Netherlands.
