I spend what I need to make my life comfortable.I never skimp on food, have no need for all the latest fashion,as am comfortable in whatever I wear be it dressing up or dressing down.
I can think of nothing more boring than traipsing in and out of high street shops.Does my head in [and my feet!]

Hello Dear Fairy I am Not much of a shopper. I do my groceries list and would stick mostly to it. (mostly ) and for clothing and shoes I would get few things but good quality.
I'm not a fan of shopping really. I don't mind an occasional mall-crawl. But prefer to avoid the actual shopping bits. I'm notorious for debating over something then decideing against it. I think, do I really need it, how often will I bother with it and finally, how much?!! And I hate going alone. If I've got to go out to buy something, I want someone with me. So at least I have a companion to talk to.

Same for me. I buy what I need for food. Don't like to spend much on clothes. But I have no limits when it comes to buying books.

I always go shopping with a ski mask and a shotgun
I don't like shopping and will do it when I need to. I'm not into the big fashion names but am into comfortable clothes. I do my grocery shopping as I need it (being single, I don't like things going to waste). I do like the occasional meal out but I usually eat at home.
steveo62: when the jeans have a hole in i buy another pair
could you sell those to me. They are so in style here. Or better yet, give them to me. You'd be doing something very nice. I hate shopping. I only go if I really need something. I go in and I get it and I'm out. Including groceries. I don't browse, look, I don't even try clothes on. If they don't fit, I'd rather take them back, than stay in that store ten more minutes. I always buy on sale. 99.9% of the time.

I dont know what its like in the States in supermarkets but they push 4 wheeled trolleys round with 3 wheels working but there now also on mobile fones pushing these trolleys round that dont work .
I have this mental excersize I go through when confronted with an item I'm not 100% sure I want or need. I picture it on a table at a tag sale with a 50 cent price on it. I lose interest pretty fast.
As to name brands vs store brands? No contest, store brands always win esp when it comes to over the counter meds. By law they must be no different than name brands.
I love the dollar stores but you can get screwed there too. The dish detergent has less actual soap in it so you wind up using more.
When it comes to groceries I go buy exactly what I need. I buy veggies and fruit and I make my own soups and eat the fruit instead of candy and pastries. I buy honey. oatmeal and bran. I buy a bottle of cabernet sauvignon for the week.
When I go clothes shopping I buy K-Mart jeans and shirts and I know exactly what I need before I buy it. Basic Edition pants and Basic Edition shirts! Fruit of the Loom underwear and white socks.
I accept all clothing hand me downs from my son because he has great taste and he doesn't mind spending dough! The things I used to do when I was young!
