It depends on what you want to watch but like the romance and dramas from the 40s. The 50s had some great musicals and comedies. The 2000s had some of the best adventures.

Each decade have best & good movie ... so it depend what's movie do you like. Its not the year but most of the movie it self, much more people like then it can be the best movie ever had.
Not my personal choice but it's hard to argue with 1939: Gone With The Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Goodbye Mr. Chips, Wuthering Heights, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (with Basil Rathbone), At The Circus (with The Marx Brothers), Beau Geste (with Gary Cooper), Intermezzo (with Ingrid Bergman), the list goes on and on (
