Treat pelple the way you would like to be treated. Same applies to judging people, or to quote a bibilical "let those without fault cast the first stone", and I'm not a judge of people.

Maybe 'judging' is too strong a word, but we do assess another person by how they present themselves to us.

I'm guilty of making judgements/assessments of people in general, and I'm sayin I AM WRONG in doing that.
It's not ethical to judge anyone, but it is human nature and we're all guilty. The human race will, most likely, not ever evolve far enough to be totally non-judgmental as a whole. We all like to think we work hard at being non-judgmental, but we never truly succeed. The most we're capable of is putting up a non-judgmental front and keeping our true thoughts and feelings to ourselves.

Yes it is ethical for a man to judge a woman, doesn't mean he will get it right though, no more than a man judging a man or a woman judging a woman.. Judgemant for me is based on Fact, Knowledge, common sense, instinct to name but a few, all human traits.
What does it say in the bible "judge not yee, lest yee be judged first", read into that what you will, but i don't think ethics as anything to do with it.

He's not talking about "judging someone", he's more talking about gaging her character than to judge her. I doubt he'd be such a fool to go and Judge 'her', that's why he said "as a person"... But nice thread though.

Maybe unenthical to judge her more harshly than you judge yourself and I think it's important we realize that we usually don't know all the circumstances related to other people's choices in life so give other's the benefit of the doubt when you can.
In saying it's unethical to judge a person, depends on the context in which it's being made. Is it unethical for a man to say "She looks beautiful?" or for a woman to say "He looks handsome" - or, "he/she is extremely clever"? 'Judging' a person doesn't always mean or involve the 'condemnation' of the person. As for the Bible quotes given, I think you'll find they relate to 'judging' or 'condemning' the Soul not the actions of a person.

Yes and it's a fact, ethics doesn't enter into it, as anything and everything perceived is personal bias and judgement.
