I love romance, especially if it is spontaneous! I mean, like buying me flowers just for the hell of it, not to say sorry or because it's my birthday... that kinda thing. Making the effort to get some good wine, dim the lights or buy candles, and put on some fab music... I do it, so I like him to as well. To me romance is a way of showing you care!

I agree. Plus with thought towards what the person who is the focus of the romance likes. If something is not to that person's taste it fails on the romance stakes.
For instance if you treat a man to a day at the zoo because you want to go but he is a petrolhead and there is a car show going on.
Romance requires thought for the other.

I've been treated to surprise weekends away. The best was when he won some money, booked a trip and had arranged with my manager to have me marched out of the building to a car which had a suitcase with all I needed for the trip to take me straight to the airport.

I had a nasty cold one time and he came home with a card and the most beautifully wrapped cold and cough medicine.

That is romance for me.
