I lost so many friends through reckless driving over the years and they wer not even behind the wheel..the drivers got away with a slp on the wrist..
The driver, who killed Elaine, got off with a suspened sentence..she left behind 6 children aged 3 months and 6 yrs. 6 months later he did it again..
The woman who hit met..got off scott free..so many stories of the same adn each and every one of them got off with their actions..saying that , each case was 15+ yers ago

Last few years they have really tightened up a lot. Here, a couple of months back, a man, (no criminal record previously), whose car tax ran out on the Sunday, drove in to the tax office first thing on the Monday morning to renew his car tax, and got pulled just as he was turning off the road. He got fined €300 and his car impounded.

The judge we have here, is really nasty to people who go to court with traffic offenses. At one stage he was sending so many to jail that the prison said they couldn't take any more. He kept sending them and told them to double up on offenders in already doubled up cells. This was at Christmas time too.....

They are a lot harder these days, than years back. hug

Steve5721: no, you are just the only person that thinks it's funny and makes a man of you.

Everyone else thinks it's childish, stupid and you deserve more than a fine.

This guy is a criminal. Typical criminal too. Thinks because no one got killed, he is getting "picked" on. Poor lil boy got to pay a fine because he unfortunately got caught by the big bad police officer who was picking on him.

He keeps trying to shift the focus of himself by saying everything but the truth of it. He giggles a little knowing he made a bunch of people mad with him because he is a miserable self centred little boy who will only be satisfied when everyone else is as miserable as he is.

Criminal. Zero respect for this person!

I like the UK system where caught without Insurance etc...they take you car and crush it.

I have a feeling that if numbnuts here had done that speed in the UK, his car would have received that same fate.

ok i know they have clamped down on car tax, but a car has to be out of road tax for at least 2 months before the guards/police can legaly impount a vehicle, so there must be more to that story? dunno

Your sentence makes no sense.Did I read it right?

You'd actually speed with your sister in the car but not a total stranger?

So you'd put your sisters life in danger as well?

Jamess1974: no thank god...its not fair cuz i was street racing at 3.00am the roads were empty

And street racing is allowed or expressly prohibited, regardless of the hour? I am assuming that it was a populated area as well?

Maybe an early jogger run over by you doing 290kph at 3:00 am wouldn't think it was unfair.

And of course you get to decide what's fair and what's not according to your book of "Understanding the Law for dummies"

It is a lazy one waiting for a phone call for a work meeting and later I will attend a concert on a plaza from a local Shymphonic band, they are good and include children to participate, even very small children whom hold a tambourine to make some sound (noise) and at the end of the concert the director allows them to lead the Shymphonic, quite interesting!

What about yours?

As a trucker, I have seen a lot of nasty wrecks...last one I saw still sticks in my mind a few years back, a couple of weeks before Christmas a head on occurred, and there were 5 bodies covered up with white sheets on the roadside, turned out to be the parents and 3 kids...by law here, when a death occurs the bodies cannot be removed until the coroner arrives on the scene of the accident.

that's the same over here now, but when i started out in this business 20yrs odd ago, it happened regularly that i would attend fatal accidents were the body's would still be in the wrecks nd indeed helped the emergency ppl with removing the body's from the wrecks, in general u'd block it out of your mind but when there's children involved it just gets to you moping

Now the truth comes out or at least is starting to. Here, in many places, you would have been fined much more than that. You also would have lost your license for atleast 1 yr, if not longer or even forever. Your car would have been confiscated and sold. Seems to me, you got luckier than you deserve and you want to complain? Well, next time it could be your life in some way or worse someone elses. Try having to explain that to some whippersnapper, perhaps your own, if you survive that long. No sympathy from me. You should be grateful that is all you got but you are too thick headed to have even that. For shame.
