Dogs are loyal, warm and loving; Dogs make great companions for humans. They keep the house alive and make you laugh; They will listen to you all day long; They are the best confidante you will ever have.

None of the above although I love all dogs. My favourite is a miniature sausage dog (daschund)!!!

I agree daschunds are adorable. I had one in the past .... I find mongrels are the best, my dog was a stray, took her in about 12 years ago. She is the best

jac379: I agree.
I've had four rescue dogs and what happy lives I have had with them.
A recent addition was rescued. A stiff I call him (Staffordshire cross Mastiff). Lovely temperament. Muscles men would die for. And he still has all his manly bits intact too.

I think Golden Retrievers are probably the best with kids, but I like labs best.

none of those mentioned..I used to breed Yorkies..still have one and he is almost 18 years old now...
too many people fail to realise, its not the breed, its the owner! Ive had golden retrievrs, great dogs but capable of nastiness to protect the family, a rottie, such a big softie at home.........and now Ive a pitbull cross and a doberman cross, both rescue dogs that no one wanted as they thought they'd be too aggressive. Like hell, softest beggars ever..its how you bring them up..and having a little sense!, who'd leave any dog with a baby thats dressed in soft furry clothes n smells like milk??
lucynad: lol...my poor dictionary is not aware of the existance of a "mut"... (i hope i am not saying anything ambiguous here...lol)
thank-you very much,larry
a bunch of wishes to have a wonderful christmas for you and your family!
We call a dog a mut, if it is a up breed, Crossbreed, and crossbreed, end up with a mut....or we also call it a heinz 57...Lol tho many of the dogs are very good dogs...
Thank You Much Lucy, and Happy Holiday Wishes to you, and Your Family as well.

solsticemoon: clarify why ur saying pitbull please?
Think he's just answering the op's question. Personally there are a few breeds that I like. Labs are great family dogs in my experience. Right now I've got a Chihuahua ... she's a cutie but sometimes too yappy.
