I think there are many people we can be more or less compatible to. However, the question is: do we ever care enough about the person we´re with, to make a great enough effort to be happy with them??

I believe that is too romatic a notion. There are many people who would be brilliant partners for life, but a relationship needs work, give and take, etc., and what may seem like a soul mate at the start of a relationship can tend to go stale after some months or years if taken for granted.

i dont think we all have soul mates, givin probability it would be impossible for everyone to find "thier own soul mate" in a life time, although some might, to say everyone has one doesnt work.
Also i believe most people settle for what they have even though it wasnt EXACTLY what they were looking for. I believe that the majority of people that are happily married didnt find thier "soul mate" they only settled for what they got. Basically the most people that work out in my opinion are the people that are willing to change or adapt to being with each other, to make each other happy.
