Unfortunately, I'm afraid you're right. Whatever the solution is, it'll take a lot longer to get out of the mess than many think. Balancing the budget would not be that difficult to do but getting it to a point where we have a surplus to pay off the debt....

I work for a USG organization doing development, reconstruction and diplomacy projects throughout Afghanistan. I'm also retired military. It's interesting and challenging so I think I'll keep doing it for a bit longer.

Tidepride01: ok here are couple of people running for president. Honestly I think D.Trump is the biggest joke but considering the countries massive debt he might just be the best choice. He clearly has good business since about him and can make a dollar when there is none to be made.
