Itchy, to me you are one of the graduates, more teacher than pupil, popping in to make the new kids feel welcome and show them how to do things around here. Nice to see you
It has been a massive learning curve for me, for sure, when I joined nearly 2 years ago I thought I knew it all and wow, I so didn't!
Talk about a learning curve. Made a few friends who turned out not to be. Made a few who have turned out to be great. Made a few enemies in all innocence! And okay, one or two deliberately
People aren't always what they seem. That's the biggest lesson, for me. Better, sometimes. Worse, sometimes. Interesting, yes, sometimes!
Wow, I was going to say that was sudden but you did say he's been after her for 2 years. Not going to console you, I just hope that you and he mend your bridges and you don't lose a friend, you eventually gain another.
He's more likely hostile to the fact that she wanted more from you than you had to offer, and as he gets to realize she no longer wants more from you, that will sort itself out. Although if he's marrying her and still worried that he is her second choice, eek! She's got some convincing to do.
Ish, the only one of that list I know in Spain is my sister and one holiday with her was enough, thank you.
It's a very big country, but I do promise if you all have a get-together, I'd hop a plane to join you. Have one while Molly is there, for added bonus? In fact I think you are an excellent organizer, make it happen please
Loved this,so true. And yet, hard to say it often without sounding monotonous or worse, needy (say it back, say it back!) And time slips by so quickly. Next thing you know a quarrel is building up around 'you don't say you love me any more'. That seminar sounds interesting!
No, honesty no longer means anything. How can we expect it to? We learn it by example, from parents, teachers, celebrities, religious leaders and the leaders of our countries. The message comes across louder and cleaer as you go up that scale. Honesty doesn't pay.
One city I would really like to see is Toledo, I translated a guidebook from Spanish English into English English and was absolutely fascinated by the mix of cultures preserved there. Some day.
Oh I sent the dog in too. She was very interested in something under the passenger seat, I assumed a mouse but will nip back out with the passport now.
JJ I don't think I could live with the sound of the hoover every day either although my house would look a lot better! You had some good advice there too for when situations do change for the rest of us.
But Z there ARE positives. Carpe Diem. And when you have accepted one of that sheaf of proposals heading your way at the end of the month, and are thinking gosh I am soooooo happy even though she did just finish the milk and there's none left for my coffee ... you will remember this blog. And shrug and say so what, it's worth it.
While those of us still living alone will have milk for our coffee
