Well, I'm not exactly a teetotaler but almost there...maybe I drink once every 2 years??

I'm on of those who are always seen with a bottle of water in my hand or my bag

For someone who doesn't like to drink any alcohol, I ended marrying an alcoholic! The irony of life

However, I was my manager's favourite when I was working at The Long Bar, Raffles Hotel, Singapore during the mid 90's. All my colleagues then, always 'siphoned' alcoholic beverages after work and I was the only one with an orange juice!! Even during the tasting of our world famous Singapore Sling, I secretly poured some into the decorative plant besides me and cleverly feigned my innocence when my headwaiter gave me a suspicious look!

As for me, I can relate to you. This site has certainly changed me, well, through someone I know 3 months ago

I'm happy with the change and I would like to stay that way even though I've stopped corresponding with that guy (temporarily!) coz it became too intense for me to handle...

Hi Ian, I consider myself to be very fortunate to be surrounded by Muslims all my life. I'm a Malaysian of Chinese ancestry, 3rd generation in fact. My late grandpa was a devout Buddhist, grandma a Catholic. The household where I grew up in, we speak 3 different languages (btw, English is my 3rd language) and few other Chinese dialects. The row of houses in the neighbourhood consisted of people of different faith and religion.

I was sent to a Malay school where majority of my classmates were Malay Muslims. We got along just fine. I was the only non-Muslim in my netball team. When we went for competition in neighbouring state, I just patiently waited for my fellow Muslim team mates to finish their evening prayers, Maghrib, before we devoured the halal Malay cuisine, using our fingers to eat. During the festive celebration- Eid-Ul-Fitr,after a month long fast, together with my other Chinese and Indian classmates, we'd cycled under the hot scorching sun to visit all our Muslim classmates' houses. We feasted upon rows and rows of gourmet delights. Some of them might not be rich at all but they were the most generous people I've ever had the fortune to come across.

Now, in adulthood, I still keep in touch with most of my Muslim friends around the world via yes, FB and I agree with you totally Ian, most of them are the nicest people around and I'm proud to call them my very very good friends....

Hi Zeurich, I'm good. My 2 teenage kids are having their 1st term school break until this Sunday. Can't wait for them to go back to school on this coming Monday so that I can have the laptop all to myself! Muahahahaha!

Wow! That is quite some story you have there! I hope to meet the guy I met here on CS 3 months ago. If everything goes well, I hope to see him next year for his 50th birthday!! Problem is, I need to travel 18 hours by flight just to meet him but I guess I'm THAT desperate to see him in real person and decide if he's what he potrays himself to be
