RE: Our Homeless Population!

I live in Western Washington, Seattle area, and there are alot of homeless here. Many came here from other parts of the country b/c the weather here is so mild. My daughter n I took a trip to Portland, Oregon and turned down a street where the homeless were all lined up along the sidewalk of a whole block. There are beggars with cardboard signs on major street corners here. Some have mental health issues, others on drugs/alcohol, but many are just out of a job or home. The cost of housing here is through the roof---how can anybody afford it if they are not making good wages? and we all know minimum wage is, well, minimal so to speak. One thing you will notice is that NONE of the beggars are Asian. Those people believe in hard work and have too much pride to be a down and out bum or beggar. They have a strong family and social network and support each other in between jobs.

Well I"ve failed #2 but do have type B blood, and come from parents with longevity (some live over 100 years). But I don't have the long earlobes. I'm short though, (people who live long lives tend to be short). Tall people don't live as long, but nobody knows why

I'm in my 50s, and I think dating used to be easier---not only because I was younger in the past, but b/c dating whilst older is harder as well. People don't trust each other anymore, and are all caught up with their gadgets, aren't socializing as they used to. So now it's easier in the sense of finding potential prospects, yet harder otherwise. Right now I'm in an online thing, and he is trying to get here to this country to be with me, we'll see how it goes. We've used skype many times, the next best thing to being there LOL
The good news is that researchers from the University of Chicago, dept. of psychology, interviewed 20,000 people and concluded that couples who had met online have better relationship outcomes!

I don't at all find everyone on this site, negative, but everywhere you go there will be some that are negative. I value positivity and will not get involved with someone who is negative. Those kinds will make your life miserable! Run...run for your very mental health, if you see such a person

I can laugh, boy can I! But I do worry because the man I met, does some LOL's online, but I have not really seen him laugh on skype (he's online, long distance). His smile is wonderful, though, and he's very kind, and volunteers with youth. I was one day chatting with him, about this hilarious story (to me, anyways), about this mean rooster that was trying to attack my mother, and when she got in her car to go to work it chased the car, and even ran under the car and out the other side, unscathed, while she was coming out the driveway. Well, he didn't laugh, but was concerned about the welfare of the rooster, hoping it didn't suffer! So what I thought funny, he didn't, but only because he is very humane about things. So am I, but, still......that rooster was mean

RE: Addressing unhappiness ....

Here in America there are alot of unhappy people, and alot of mentally ill people---I think up to half of all people here are on anti depressants, which is scary, and too many people here are angry! We're getting more and more mass shootings now.
I'm an optimistic person, pretty content, but I have to live here and deal with everybody else, so I keep to myself more now. Happiness is a state of mind, and has alot to do with skills to solve problems. I think too many people don't have that inner peace and feel hopeless, maybe they give up. Another factor is upbringing: scientists are now finding that a person's brain is shaped for life by how they were treated as small children! So I figure there are alot of warped souls out there. I try to surround myself with positivity and don't watch films that are filled with negativity. We really are what we think, see and do, so I am mindful of that.

I agree! It's not how close or far someone is, but how good they are for us I've known people who live right around the corner who are toxic, yet got pals far away who I get along with just fine

I agree! But don't don't do it right away. First, try to see if they seem genuine enough. There must be a certain level of trust for me to give out my skype ID. I test them in so many little (and big) ways...

As for the twin flame scenario, I have never exprienced that, and it would be unrealistic to expect, since most of us never will. However, I have had strong crushes and attractions that were intense feelings and desires. It is mostly hormones and such, and can fade away later

I've gotten alot of psychic readings for cheap at the psychic fairs, and I think there are alot of mediocre readers, some are obviously fakes....but every once in awhile you run into someone who is truly talented. I used to go to one every other year, and she described people in my life, and events that were going to happen. No doubt about it, she was the real deal. I can't find her anymore, but have now gone twice to a woman who amazed me..she was describing my online guy and things about his life. Keep in mind she knew nothing about him and I didn't give her any clues. I googled her the next day and found out she works with missing people and such. So I'm going to stick to her. But it is an unregulated business so there are alot of people out there who are not very good. Another reason I know that some can have a strong intuition or psychic ability is b/c I myself have occasional precognitive dreams, and my daughter as a child would always know if a pet or someone was going to die. "Hunches" like that and dreams are very real and not that uncommon.

I think people are overly concerned with their looks and skin color. I don't sunbathe and I do date dark men. I think dark skin is beautiful, no matter how dark it is. I don't give a bit of concern about "class" and skintone. A person is either fun to hang out with or they aren't.
Just also want to point out that Asians like to surgically alter their eyelids and noses to look more "western". And the skin lightening creams are terrible--they do damage to liver or kidneys. I would never want to allow my boyfriend to use those. I don't know anything about the surgery or shots, never heard of it before.

My kids are bi-racial also. They just identify with being "american", since they were born/raised here (although their father was not born here).
Funny how Rachel is being scrutenized for identifying with blacks. So many people who are not native american here, identify with a tribe, and are often embraced by that tribe--even becoming enrolled as a tribal member sometimes. Yet, no media attention for that! And there is a growing trend for non-Jamaicans to become rastafari...so why the big deal about Rachel? It's her life, and she not only isn't harming anyone, she was helping

Michael, you might be right. I once put out a poll but most women said it isn't important if a man doesn't make as much as her, or not more than her. Could be they won't admit it if they really expect a man who makes more? Yet, I know of many women who make more are married to men who don't make as much....so I do believe there are those women who are not looking for money. But what percentage of the female population would that be? I don't know.

Nothing in this world is completely black and white---it's pretty much all varying shades of gray, for the most part. Relationships and marriages are hard enough to maintain. I kind of think we should not be pointing our fingers at others and judging, but instead, looking at our own selves and paying attention to our own relationships, because it isn't easy. I try not to pry into other's business much. We are all here to live and learn.
BTW, my kids are part Asian, I have relatives and in laws married to people of other races/nationalities--we are a very mixed family. Even my brothers' close friend is married to a much younger Filipino woman and they have 2 beautiful children. My sister is married to a much older man, and I have always preferred younger men. We are all unique. But does anyone want to be scrutinized? Yes, it's true we must be honest and genuine with who we choose to be with. And we must use our common sense. Beyond that, it's our own business who we spend our lives with, as long as we're not hurting anyone else. Some young women LOVE older men. Some younger men LOVE older women. Some dark skinned people love pale skin and vise versa....so what?

Sooooo, what if a man overseas marries a western woman for a better life/finances.....is that okay? is that any of our business as long as he intends to stay married to her and he cares for her as a person?
