How do we identify oursleves ?
From last week I have been reading a story about Rachel Doezal, she identify herslef as a black-person. <only she white>
Long ago I had a friend who is a white Jamaican,I had never thought about him being white.
I have 2 dauthers they are half and half, they are at home on the Island and very much at home here.
So my question is. If Rachel Doeszal wants tobe a black person
why not let her be the person she identifys with ??

Long time no talk,
I too seen this on the news and thought,
"if the woman is doing a good job and the world is a better place for it,
then that's all we should be concerned with. She did resign to preserve the integrity of the NAACP which is understandable but not entirely necessary in my opinion.
If she did perceive the sky as green,
What harm would that be.
I just feel that! It's more to this story. That the News not telling. Or just maybe! The News doesn't even know the whole story. Or the News just not telling the whole story....
They do loves drama! U Know....
It's interesting that imposing racial categorisation can create as much controversy and confusion as claiming it.
Personally, I like to think if anyone wants to send me back home, they'd have to wait until I'm dead and throw my ashes up into a hurricane.
I see no problem with her identifying as a black person...she did prove to be a good at her job...
Funny how Rachel is being scrutenized for identifying with blacks. So many people who are not native american here, identify with a tribe, and are often embraced by that tribe--even becoming enrolled as a tribal member sometimes. Yet, no media attention for that! And there is a growing trend for non-Jamaicans to become rastafari...so why the big deal about Rachel? It's her life, and she not only isn't harming anyone, she was helping
