If they want to complain, let them. You can enjoy the benefits and mentally send the others forgiveness for not being aware enough to see beyonf their imagined negatives. No doubt they are doing the best they can for where they are in their lives. Try not to hitch a ride on their coattails, have fun yourself and maybe they will notice and hitch a ride on yours.
Lovely poem Thank you. I see hummingbirds every day outside my apartment and occasionally come across one of the thimble sized teacups that is a hummingbird'd nest.
I find people have either allowed the PC police to take their tongues or have been so scalded by the'I have a right to my opinion and don't need to entertain yours at all" stance that seems endemic that the thought of even attempting to converse exhausts them before they have a chance to draw breath.
I have actually had a male companion walk half a block away from his car before he realized I was sitting waiting for the door to be opened.
I enjoy being treated like a lady. It does not diminish me as a woman to let a man cherish me. And when I find one to cherish me I will cherish him right back.

I travelled to the US twice this year, I hold a British passport and a permanent resident card (US). Every time I was required to show my documents I triggered the super search and question mode.
I am a very benign traveller and they 'catch' me every time. Too bad people with less benign intentions can end up in flying school etc in the States without raising the same level of examination.
