GG Hi girl, thank you for the comment, yes I agree, love grows in the relationship and becomes stronger and respect has to be there also in order for love to grow. And thanks for the Psychiatric point of view, much appreciated.
Berry, very kind of you to drop in, I agree, it cannot make for a good relationship and for me, the two go hand in hand. And thanks for asking about New Girl, yes it's good, I'm a bit scared 'cos it is almost too good. I keep waiting for the sting! We talk a lot and my Spanish has improved, or rather changed because she speaks South American Spanish so I get confused sometimes. She's babysitting granddaughter at the moment so we're on whatsapp messenger at the moment. That's how I have time out to be here today.
Swami hi Thanks for the input, however the question still remains. Could you live with and love someone you did not respect? I could not and would not be able to be emotionally involved with someone I did not respect. Maybe that's just me. Oh! And New Girl as well and the others who have so far commented here, yourself possibly also. The fact that I can respect someone I do not love, or even like has no bearing on the fact that I could not love someone I did not respect.
Imp, thank you for expanding on that. I agree it is sad but like you said, as an outsider one must recognise that it is impossible to interfere. In the mother-in-law's case we actually physically packed her up and kidnapped her. We lived over 200 miles away at the time so distance was a deterrent for him. We gave her a little house he didn't know, and a canine companion. She got herself together, and credit to her, when she was ready went back as she still had the youngest daughter at home. The daughter supported her mother no end and would reprimand her father for being ignorant or controlling. His behavior improved a little and he always knew I was there with the elbow. Once the daughter got married, her mother divorced him. The whole family rose up against him and told him if he even thought about contesting it we would hit him with the cruelty stuff and take everything he had ever worked for. He behaved. And the Mother-in-law? she lived happily ever after! No not really, but at least is able to do her own thing. I have to say I admire how you have put your life back together knowing how difficult that must be.
Yes, I asked; the people New Girl was talking about are forties, fifties. So not new apparently. You're dead right and it defeats me utterly how the one can exist without the other!
@ Ches. The history books are mostly fiction and will continue to be so. Facts are interpreted politically. The bible being a classic example as I have said elsewhere.
Thank you sweet Molly, and yes, strangely, I was planning to go there before this happened! I put off a trip to South Africa with the intention of going to Chile, then the Universe conspired, the impossible happened and so I stayed home and worked on the house. I just love how it all works you know? Thanks again Molly. bye for now.
Grouchy, yep 'fraid so. No Elvis impersonations from here on in, especially his last performance! M4, I agree. Green tea is healthiest. Gypsy, thank you, and yes I will remember. Sweetie, thank you for your comments, we never really met did we, but yes, have hope. Dearest Mercedes, yes I would have knocked on your door for sure, but I didn't fit your requirements and people, you know how this works. Place your order, one minute twenty-five seconds at least of repeating over and over exactly what you want, be specific. Prepare your request in advance Then imagine having that thing which you ordered. Be thankful for it and say so out loud. If it's a guy, imagine being with him, feeling the warmth of his love surround you, feel his hand in yours as you walk, his arms around your waist as you cook, his hand on your thigh as you drive, feel him next to you as you fall asleep and as you wake, know the scent of his skin, know he is coming to you, make room in your life for him and your garage for his car. Think of being with him every second of every day and he will come. Remember also, he will not be exactly what you wanted, but he will be what you need. Also remember this can take time, I have been two years getting to this point, but as I said elsewhere, I didn't realise I wasn't ready for her. Need more info on the law of attraction look up Deepak Chopra or Esther Hicks on you tube. Thank you U ni verse! I will stop by each week and report in. Bon chance mes enfants, à plus.
Hey sweet thing, Not all fish is problematic and hey, we live longer. But I'm piccy about which fish. Rice is also high in mercury but the Chinese ......... Oh gawd I'm off again.
Jim, glad you're happy with DDG, it's excellent. As an ex teccy I have used Linux for years. All the teccys used to in my day. Dos is based on Linux but largely came from IBM and Windows came from Mac. Funny how a certain person worked for both those companies before .....! Hey, I'm not accusing anyone. Anyway what I was coming to in my usual overly verbose fashion is that Linux now has the GUI similar to Windows and can run on the same machine as Windows along side it. You choose which one to use at boot. I use Linux Mint on a Dell but there are lots of different versions and it's FREE . You can also run it from a TF card as in cell phone, because it is minute compared to Windows and all files etc. produced can be kept on that tiny card instead of the HD. People who use my machines never realise they are not using Microsoft. And! In the shops in here in France we had suites of computers for the tourists to do emails on. They never noticed it wasn't Microsoft either.
Aster, thanks for dropping by, and I agree, unimportant we are, but still surveyed; This is why Windows has a back door these days, just in case you interest the authorities enough for them to need to access your PC. Of course, if they can, any half way competent hacker can also. And the portable barbecue you use for communications while you are out is just the same, but that has the added advantage of telling them where you are, who you are with and what you are doing when away from home, where there are any number of gadgets reporting on you. These days we've got so blasé we even bug ourselves, on purpose, say hi to Alexa!
Keepers, yeah, what else can one do if one wishes to communicate? But be aware is all. For example, Windows is deliberately written as an open system so that Microsoft can make extra money licensing out the rights to other companies to write anti virus, anti spy packages. When tablets first arrived, they didn't have enough memory or hard disc space for the sprawling Windows XP so manufacturers used Linux. Then Microsoft came out with Windows CP which didn't need anti virus and anti spy and was therefore a much smaller program. I grew up with computers and have worked with them most of my life, I taught computer technology at Uni and colleges for eleven years, had computer shops in the UK and France. I retired from it in twenty o nine but at that time, could still bypass the windows password in under a minute. That was why I asked you the question the other day, but truly, I don't keep up now unless I need to know something, like how money is laundered on the Internet, which I was talking about elsewhere with regard to Trump.
Mercedes indeed yes. They can see what what we have written anywhere. Every word we utter is all recorded but only attracts the attention if we use their trigger words which are merely words that may indicate we intend to cause them trouble. Otherwise it is kept in case they ever need to check us out because we went off the rails somewhere. Have you not heard of Edward Snowden? (I bet that's triggered a human to have a look) And I'm the one who doesn't have a TV or read news! Oh, but of course you were going through life with your hands over your face until yesterday.
Tilla, thanks, it's taken me till now to watch that it's so long. I never thought there could be a day when I would think that these characters looked young, even Minnie Cauldwell and Albert Tatlock. OMG!!!!!!!!!!
Biff, I must remember that, though I can't remember the last time I leaned into a pram to look at anything. No I've just remembered it was last year at a Troc et Puces (French car Boot with whistles and bells) but in the push chair was an elderly dog, and in French the word is mignon, and she was. The dog that is.
Can love exist without respect.
