Just because more cases of the virus are DISCOVERED doesn't mean that more cases exist. If a thousand people have the virus and you do no testing at all, does that mean that no one has the virus?
Now you test those thousand people because you are doing more tests. Suddenly you have a thousand "new" cases. But not one more person was infected than when you did no testing. More IDENTIFIED cases do not necessarily mean more cases. There could actually be LESS cases, and because you do more testing you DISCOVER more cases.
The United States has one of the lowest death rates from the virus among the major countries of the world. That statistic is a much better indicator of how we are doing than the number of people who test positive.
It's your choice to write or not write about politics. I don't have any problem with it either way. I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say about politics, but it's up to you to decide if you want to talk about it. That goes for everyone. Everyone is free to talk about it or not talk about it. And if they don'e even want to read it, they don't have to. No one forces anyone to read blogs.
But you are right, politics is a controversial topic so if you do talk about politics you should expect that other people might have different views and challenge your views. Some people can dish it out, but they can't take it. They get all bent out of shape if they express a view and someone takes exception to it. So if that bothers you, you should talk about something else, not politics because politics is about DEBATE.
I don't have any problem with people who don't want to talk about politics. The people I have a problem with are those who try to control what other people can and can not talk about.
Expect these anti-Trump, anti-America fake news attack dogs to be stepping up their attacks on Barr as they know that Durham report is likely to come out as early as the next few months and has already been said to contain devastating news for Obama, his administration and the Democrats including indictments for serious felony crimes like treason of high ranking people in the Obama administration, if not Obama himself, who illegally spied on the Trump campaign and conspired to overthrow a duly elected President of the United States.
They are terrified of what is in that report. So they need to trash Barr now in spite of his decades long impeccable record of unequaled integrity and honor because they know the report is going shock Americans when they find out what the Democrats did and devastate their party right before the election.
This is why you see Democrats destroying statues and trying to eliminate any traces of American history. They don't want people to know the history of their party and the evil acts their party did.

Sorry but this is NOT a "neutral" comment. You are disparaging and demeaning those who speak out in favor of a point of view and are trying to influence others in a way they believe is contributing to the betterment of mankind by doing so.
If everyone was "neutral" (and by the way no one is, it's just that some people want to portray themselves to be because they are so afraid of being challenged), human civilization would never improve itself. It is only those who shake things up and dare to take a stand that change the trajectory of the human race for the better. There is nothing sacred or admirable about neutrality when it comes to the civic duty of governance that every citizen of a country has a responsibility to participate in.
Ronald Reagan, who the Democrats tried to destroy the same way they are trying to destroy Trump, won his second term by the biggest landslide in US history to this day, winning 49 out of 50 states. They say it would be impossible to even match that record. I wouldn't call ANYTHING impossible with Trump at bat.
What is the alternative? Keep the Democrat's shutdown going so everyone dies of starvation instead?
I'm not even sure we should have shut it down in the first place. If we hadn't listened to the communist propaganda mouthpiece WHO and the lies they were feeding to our Democrat controlled news media which they gladly parroted over and over again to try to hurt Trump, millions of people would already be back at work and hundreds of thousands of businesses wouldn't have been destroyed forever.
