Phew, so not a weekly shopping list I buy in bulk too so already had stock of pretty nearly everything I needed before Spain shut down - luckily I had done a double shop, an inventory check if you like to make sure I had dog and cat food, milk, coffee, etc, for 2 weeks - just days beforehand.
I want to start a loo paper blog asking people how much they use
Here in Spain, day 1 - the bread van has been, as usual. I left money in a plastic cup and he has left bread. I may nuke it in the microwave before I eat it
I actually took this list seriously the first time I read it was trying to work out how any 2 people could get through more than a roll, sorry a mega roll, of loo paper in a single day
Is that the advice on self-testing by taking and holding deep breaths, and drinking lots and lots of fluid? TBH I don't think either are bad advice but yup representing oneself as an expert is very tacky.
Lots of people here scoffing at the virus being anything more than a common cold - well, if you are poorly and wondering which you have, do try holding your breath for 10 or more seconds - if you can't, or have a coughing fit, hmm, your lungs are possibly compromised. I do think one would notice lungs filling with fluid without having to do that but hey.
I haven't hit the magic cut-off yet but like you have to go to 66 to get my lavish pension anyway. Tell you what, though, if I pitched up at a Spanish hospital wheezing and they turned me away, I'd never pay my Social again. I pay this truly gigantic whack every month and then have to pay for a private doctor? HAH.
So I hope the > 65 living in Italy re plotting revenge a fine Italian revenge.
I could have sworn i saw a comment from you about your flight back from Portugal complete with mask and blocking the loo every 8 minutes so you could wash your hands.
Italy can take a long walk off a short pier in my opinion. Seems they are neither testing nor treating the over-65s.
I trust the over-65s are having long public whinges about it and grabbing every sleeve they can find. Prioritizing the ones likeliest to recover over the ones likeliest to be hit hard - ah, feeling the love.
Z, you said it yourself, governments and / or pension companies would not be tearful to lose an expensive unproductive and growing percentage of the population. Why you alone must cost the pensions department a small fortune every month, that huge whack you're on.
I think one thing every country should think of doing is quietly lining up some younger leaders on standby because it does target the older members of society. Could be a blessing in disguise, come to think of it but CS could become a ghost town
Which would be a real shame when we finally all had something in common.
It seems totally weird to have got through winter, enjoying the spring and anticipating summer and then be told a walloping virus could knock you flying - I really hope those who are saying the hot weather will see it die back before next winter are right. I hope those who expect there to be efficient medication or a vaccination before next winter are right. And I really hope the southern hemisphere, going into winter, is not going to start into the cold weather with this looming over it at the current rate of spread.
So is this going to run as long as the Brexit blog, with as many unexpected extensions and complications?
One thing about your man, he has divided the country more than any president in US history, plus made the rest of the world look at all Americans differently.
Z, rather than heckling 'wrong direction' think instead how many directions the blog has taken and how very much varied information has come in?
There's stuff about giraffes and bream and greetings and Punch and and and and and - some blogs are a formal meal and some turn into spontaneous picnics
BD, if not too late already, transfer it to the freezer. You can't really say you have the body of an 18 y-o once it is buried. (I've tried)
Namaste in a year with much politics anticipated should be kept traditional. I would find it a little stomach-turning to see the flashing moobs of the very old men in politics who will be trying to meet and greet many many voters
Viruses are not kept at bay by good hygiene, they spread throughout the population whether healthy or sick and this is what makes them, well, viral. The better your general health the less you will suffer, but you still get them.
If your visit was romantic and she's not responding the romance is off. I agree with the other comments, go anyway if your ticket is non-refundable, Bokononism holds that changes in travel plans are dancing lessons from God
It could be that quarantines in either your country or the US will force cancellation in which case hopefully your travel insurance will pay out.
BD, I heard the plastic is mixed in with bulk foods like rice to bulk them out a bit more. After all, who chews rice, you'd never notice. I guess that means the food group would be roughage?
Jig, all those women talking so intently at parties aren't usually comparing notes but sometimes women do brood on something and will ask out of the blue "is it normal" or "how would you react" etc. Like the guy who, as part of his kissing technique, ran his tongue between her upper teeth and lip. She always felt he was checking her teeth were clean. We all agreed we'd feel the same. Ick.
RE: The Isolation Blog
Z, I doubt I will ever be that bored
