Hmmm, I wonder if I am compatible with women, lol?
Sure that was Huck Finn's philosophy from the book Huckleberry Finn. "I don't take stock in dead people." Mark Twain I prefer that to quote in the movie, "Scary Movie" or "I see dead people", lol.
Dogmatic: The answer you might get from a parent, for example, "Because I said so."
Hippocratic: From Hippocracy (might not have this spelled right, lol) He was supposed to be the father of medicine. One might concieve this as learning from one's mistakes, for example using leaches for blood letting and drilling holes in skulls to relieve tension, not advisable, lol.
Democratic: Letting the majority decide so to speak.
Socratic: The gadfly technique. Socrates tried to find out if anyone actually knew what they was talking about. If I remember right they made him drink poison. Anyways, many contribute him to be the father of science. The scientific approach, in other words.
Sophistry: The father, so to speak of lawyers. Socrates and the Sophists didn't get along so well. The job of the lawyer is to prove the case or at least in favor of the client. One could see this as right at any price.
Which would you think would best describe your train of thought?
Once there a man who thought he was a hero. He thought his royalty made him supreme. His arrogance was as great as Nero. He hadn't learned that he was part of a team.
As he grew in stature so did his ego. He thought no one could be greater than him. He thought intelligence was the way to go. Almost everyone was afraid to challenge him.
The elders of the village watched him grow. The children were impressed with his physique. All manner of people came up only to his elbows. His father died when he was at his peak.
Soon with all fanfare his ascended the throne. He decided that he should broaden his empire. His advisors he heeded not so he was alone. His armies took other kingdoms like wildfire.
Gaia's wood nymphs reported to her the news. Gaia's wisdom decided to bring the God down. It was safe to say that Gaia was not amused. Around his castle Gaia cursed the ground.
The God was astonished at his predicament. Gaia caused a flower to grow outside his portal. The God didn't know what to think of it. The wood nymphs laughed; they knew he was mortal.
The God was transfixed with the flower. He couldn't understand how it could grow. He cursed it with all his power. The flower had no way to know.
Daily the God would talk to the flower. He let everything else around him go. He grew intrigued with its power. The beauty of the flower made him mellow.
Teaching a heart how to love. Teaching a mind how to think. Teaching a soul how to feel. Training our spirit to cohabit ate. We must learn how to live in this alien world. The wreckage of the past must be dealt with. What to leave and what to get rid of. Behavior modification and social adaptation. What can we accept and what can we not accept. The evolution of adapting to a new life form. How to learn from the past without living in it. Becoming a new creature without losing ourself in the process. Transforming what was us to the new adaptation. Becoming one with the new environment. Learning how to live in a life under reconstruction. Juxtaposing to the new reality. How do we live and let live. How do we understand what is real. Can we coexist and not lose ourself. Must we change from what we were. How can we save our bliss but get rid of the ignorance. We survive and life begins anew. It is not the same reality that we were born into. The world is the same but we are different. We had no choice but to learn how to adapt.
I liked your poem. I have been there and it is true. The important thing is to learn from our mistakes. I know many times I had friends who tried to help in the past but I failed to understand it as help. You are right about the perfect part, too. Have you ever tried to live with a perfect person, lol? I find the kindness part true, too. Just today we were all getting hot under the collar but through being compassionate with each other's complaining it helped all of us. Like our meetings that states we are not saints. I think that is an important part of communication. One of our coworkers was really making fun of another coworker, today and for the last few days. I keep thinking the other one is going to come back at him and I notice sometimes he does.
Yes, a bad day with work and student loans. First they told me they would just garnish but now they are trying to refer me to a different loan while they jacked up the amount of the loan.
I can't wait to see it. Silent Hill sounds interesting, too. I would like to see a sequel to Demon Seed. It is a old horror movie but I will never forget when that little girl said, "I am alive". It would be interesting to see how she turned out later.
Yup. Do you take this stranger to be your stranger? I do. And do you take this stranger to be your stranger? I do. I now pronounce you dumb and dumber, lol.
