If we leave the Christians alone they will have a holy war and gets depressed and go out and get drunk or stoned. We have checks and balances. The collaboration between surnames that attach to yours helps a lot. They can become just as interesting as your own because actually they are part of your own.
Family search dot org by the mormons is a great start. If you can get four generations back then you can ususally connect through other's work. Roots web dot com by ancestory dot com has much help. Gen trees and circles are good too. It is addictive though just want to warn. It csan be fun. Arguing about grandmothers ten generations back can get totally insane, lol.
I have traced mine back one thousand years. I am thankful for my Indian heritage for the animal spirit, the sweat lodges, the great spirit, the great sayings like, "Don't judge a man until you have walked a mile in his moccasins. I like the English heritage for all the nobility and my Catholic heritage. 500 years of being Catholic if that don't screw you up I don't know what will, lol? Reality checks helped me many times in the past. They have upset me, sure but it was usually something I needed to here. I had to stop being a spectator in life and get involved in life. It seems to me that you were being a good friend. From your post it seems you would have wanted to be treated with the same respect as regards to a reality check. The sharp call to an end would be condusive to a person whose manipulative game did not work or one who did not want to hear the truth.

I am so thankful for my life. I was born in love and strife. My father he named me but my mother she framed me. My father gave me mighty thorns of power but my mother gave me the softness of flower. It is not easy being a rose in the winds but I survive through my friends. Beautiful poem, David. I loved what you had to say in it. I fight the insanity every day of my life. By going to the meeting we use the insanity against itself like a doctor would use snake venom as a antivenom to save a patient. :)
I was reading the thread about the fairy Godmother and it started me to thinking. It is hard to think with a damaged brain but the cells that are still working try to make up for the lost ones, lol.

Thanks, hon. I had a good meeting last night. This lady who had been in prison for seven years got out and was reunited with her child. It was a spiritual experience for her because she broke down and chied in the meeting. She was ready to start her battle with quitting drugs. She accepted a twenty four chip and thought she thought the drugs were the reason she was locked up. There were many new comers there. Some of them are really amazed when they figure out that alcohol and drugs are not the answer but the problem. The pain is necessary but the misery is optional we keep telling them. Recovery, institutions, jails or death; I know it can be a tough choice. It is up to them; we try to keep our opinions to ourself.
