I think our professions certainly has a play in whether a man will date us or not. Most men I meet are terribly intimidated by me being in the military and run for the hills. Have yet to meet one that can deal with that in a mature way.
No, it wouldn't be selfish as if I were being selfish, I would keep it to myself. Hiding it only makes things worse. If the person truly loves you, they will accept what you have to say no matter what it is. However, this is just my opinion and I am sure others would think keeping somethings to themselves is better.
Absolutely. Ommitting is a way of hiding something. You have to be 100% honest with the other person. I certainly beleive in that; guess that is why I am still single.
