RE: food battle

You forgot Burger King! That would have my vote...but only because I can't have pizza anymore, otherwise it would be Pizza Hut (even after working there for almost 4 years)!

RE: LOVE on net...

I disagree...I love full-out each time, no safety net in place...unless you count my friends, who will be there to pick up the pieces with me afterward.

If you love with your guard up, you're not really loving at all. JMO.heart wings

RE: LOVE on net...

hug Well said, Riya.

RE: LOVE on net...

hug Nothing wrong with being Iraqi...but what Woody said is true. I also think that there's an impression that men from the Middle East don't treat women well in general. So, if you would treat a woman with respect, and want to find that love wherever it may be, and are open-minded...then, again Woody said it well...post on the forums and let people get to know you for you instead of as an Iraqi. Yes, post your views, and be you. If it's meant to be, it will happen.

Good luck. hug

RE: Rasmussen polls accurately predicted the 2004 election

doh Yes, I think that Americans will prove to be that stupid this year. I'll do my part to fight it, but sadly, I think it will be accurate.

RE: Going To Spend Tonight In Hospital

Spirit, it sounds like one of your problems is sleep apnea. Do you usually get so little sleep, or was it because you were in a strange place? I've heard that doesn't help sometimes, and can make the results go askew.

RE: Some light relief - highlights of Adelaide (Australia, a site advertising new apartment b'dng)

Above is a link to one person's pictures of my favorite place to go. My late husband showed it to me for the first time, we did our handfasting in the cave pictured there, and I still go often. It's a very sacred and spiritual place for me. She took good pics...that's really how it looks.

RE: Some light relief - highlights of Adelaide (Australia, a site advertising new apartment b'dng)

Cool idea! I'll see if there's anything available...there are historic and scenic sites around here, and I'll bet there are websites for some of them. I do believe there is for my county as well.

RE: Some light relief - highlights of Adelaide (Australia, a site advertising new apartment b'dng)

Very cool apartments, and a neat site!

Me, I prefer my house with a fenced-in yard for the dogs, so living in something like that wouldn't be an option for me, even if I could afford it...but they really do look very cool.

Thank you for sharing it. cheers

RE: I Don't Wanna Work...

laugh laugh laugh Cute!

RE: Mac or PC?

Hmmm....something to think about when buying my next computer. I've always used a PC b/c I heard that there were too many limits to the Mac...but I know that's not the case anymore, too.

So, I might try a Mac in the future. I always liked those iMacs...they looked cool.

RE: Women with Kids

Yes. My children have lived with their father since our split 9 years ago. They were only 4 and 6 at the time and he was the stay-at-home parent because of a back injury (hard to prove, btw, no disability could be proven for this). So, I worked to support us, and I worked crazy hours. I was a delivery driver and a shift manager at a pizza place, and if anyone called off, guess who stayed? So, I might go in scheduled to work 10:45 am to 4:30 pm, only to not get out until 2 am because the closing manager called off and I closed. My family had all just moved back to NH on me when we split, and you don't get babysitters to watch your kids for those hours...not to mention, almost all of my pay going to the sitter.

To top it off, he threatened that if I got custody I'd never see my kids again. Did you know that most of those children on the back of milk cartons that have been missing for years are kidnapped by the non-custodial parent? I knew that...so it was a threat I took seriously. He has reminded me of it over the years. So, he has custody, and they had the benefit of having a caring parent take care of them when they were little. I have gotten to watch my children grow up, to take care of them still in many ways...and when I have them, that time is sacred. If I'm dating a man and it's serious, he can hang out with us, but I have never canceled that time to hang out with a man. As a matter of fact, I have never canceled that time for anything.

So, maybe you should ask instead of making assumptions. There might be a good reason why the mother isn't the custodial parent. Btw, my decision not to fight for custody due to the situation and his threats, was the hardest sacrifice I've ever made in my life...but I did it and survived it because of how much I love my sons, and we've talked about now that they're teenagers so that they understand. We have a great relationship.heart wings

RE: Why is it so hard to date?

I don't think it's necessarily being a single parent that makes it harder...been there...I think it's being older and wiser, and not being willing to settle for less than what we want. We meet someone, in the first couple of dates it doesn't click, then we're looking again. I know I stayed longer when I was younger because I didn't care as much about the things that I do now.

RE: who is the greatest signer of all time

I agree with many above me here who have stated that this is subjective and hard to put just one name on (and ignore the ones joking about your typo...we've all made those). I would add Whitney Houston, John Denver, Cher, Kelly Clarkson...and many more. There have been a lot of great singers, and I don't think that there is just one "best of all time".

cheers

RE: How can I help my bf though this?

hug All you can do is be there for him and support him through this. Just try to understand if he gets angry and lashes out through this, too. It's a tough thing to go through. The death of a parent is always tough, but must be much worse when it's suicide because that leaves feelings of abandonment and wondering if there was something you could have done to prevent it. Let him vent those feelings, and reassure him as best you can...and just love him.hug

RE: Does CS use pop up ads?

I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser. It doesn't allow pop ups unless you allow them. I've never had a pop up ad from CS. Actually, until you mentioned it, I didn't know that they used them.

RE: What do you think of your mate?????, MATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, a word can change so much...and there is a big difference between British English and American English...like a bonnet for a car hood there, here it's only a hat.

RE: God & Politics/Power

To clarify, I have Jewish friends, and I wasn't being demeaning at all, but pointing out a fact. There's a lot of money spent to this end by the wealthy Jewish families of this country. I would never demean any religion's followers.

jaw drop I guess how I'd react would depend on whether or not I knew for sure that the gal in question deserved it. But it is original.

RE: Police Officers Shoot Each Other

Most of the cops I know could use practice shooting...can't hit the side of a barn, but go around armed.

Note: I'm not saying this is true of all of them...just that around here they're known for needing to learn more about their firearms and how to aim the darned things. Trust me, I have a buddy who used to be a firearms instructor for the local police...he'd back me up on that! laugh laugh doh

RE: Going To Spend Tonight In Hospital

hug Good luck, Spirit. I'll say a prayer that they can get the medication, and your sleep problem, regulated. hug
