I had a collie called Kelly, she was my best mate for nearly 14 years. I used to put the meat on the sink to defrost and it would just disappear and l was blaming the cat, so l set a trap one day and left some chicken on the sink....l heard this scuffling noise and l ran into the kitchen to find Kelly with her feet on the sink and the chicken in her mouth after l told her off l had to laugh the poor cat had been getting the blame when it was her all along... the old scallywag...
Now what if that man your sisters dog bailed up had been just a person just walking thru her street, cause you cant expect us to believe that she knew he hadnt broken the law.... she would have really frightened them by bailing them up and if they had have reacted the wrong way would she have taken it further? You will never know. Maybe the Rotty breeding in this dog has stablized the temperament but the fact she has rushed someone like that and bailed them up l wouldnt trust her. JMO
Speaking of playing with the neighbors pet. I had a Collie ( Lassie ) called Chip and he use to take his ball over to the fence jump onto the fence and let the little girl next take the ball out of his mouth and she would then throw it for him, they would play for hours like that...he was a great dog. I now have his grandson and he is just as nice a dog as his grandpa was.
I actually feel thier is no place for them anywhere. The main aim of the pitbull is for fighting to the death...hence the name "pitbull" they were created purely and simply for fighting. The more aggressive dogs were kept and bred from to create todays pitbull, the instinct to fight and kill is always thier. Thier should be no place in todays society for such a vicous breed of dog.
Yes little dogs are usually more aggressive, especially anything with terrier at the end of its name. Its the size and the strength and the damage that pit bulls do thats gets thier attacks noticed by the media. And working dogs who still have a strong working instinct try to herd anything and everything including humans and your average working dogs nip at livestock to make them move. This is the main cause of bites from working dogs.
Every dog breed was created to serve a purpose, pit bulls were created to fight and kill. The instict is stronger in some pit bulls than others. The main problem with the pit bull is if something is done to provoke as you put it the dogs natural instinct kicks in and they have the strength to a lot of damage or even kill. Every dog is capable of biting if treated the wrong way but they all dont have the strength or the ability of the pit bull or the instinct to kill that has been bred into this breed.
Yes lm aware this dog wasnt approached, l was just giving some saftey tips when dealing with dogs. I think girls are attacked for often as they are more inclined to scream when they feel scared which encourages the dog to attack as they sound like a scared animal and they become prey to these aggressive dogs.
They still are definatley breeding them, they just advertise smartly or sell them on the black market.
Yes of course it should, anyone who decides to come and live in Australia should accept our culture as we are expected to accept thiers. They dont change thier beliefs just because they now live here why should we change our beliefs for them. JMO
Yes shell sadly it is children who are most vunrable to dog attacks and its mostly due to the fact that dogs dont see children as being above them in the " family pack" therefore if the the child does something that the dog sees as stepping above it place in the pack they treat them the same as they would another dog and punish them, the child screams which causes the dog to attack harder. Its not like a puppy would react they would submit and the dog stops. The problem is most people expect thier dogs to act like humans and they cant, they are a dog and thier instinct to be part of a pack has never left them, us humans have become thier pack. Children should never be left alone with any breed of dog, they should be taught never to approach a dog with out the owners permission, never pat the dog along the top of the body or the head, they see that as a form of dominence and never make eye contact with a dog.
