Yes of course it should, anyone who decides to come and live in Australia should accept our culture as we are expected to accept thiers. They dont change thier beliefs just because they now live here why should we change our beliefs for them. JMO

Christmas and Easter are more of a family holiday/ get together time now for most, not as religous as it use to be.

oh well thats your right but i certainly rejected there harmful rubbish a long time ago. I also visited lot of countries and considered other stories to.

If you look the whole world is driven by cause and effect, every aspect of this world is in a constant flux of change. Nothing on this planet can be said to exist from its own side.

Then take the time to give careful listen to the dog crossed the road in Melbourne last night, attacked a 31 year old, followed her into her house and killed a four year old girl watching TV. In addition its been noted the same family earlier in another location had another child attacked by a dog and further suffered there house been burnt down. Really sad story...in past the children had to have created that karma, and i mean in past life, not something else.

Then look at the Xmas story-line perpetrated from lies starting with the Santa Claws crap, and the economic activity generated by that.
Then the Easter story-line clothed in chocolate in an attempt to explain the resurrection. Reincarnation, it falls a long way short of explaining anything useful.

I believe our nature is moving energy (karma) without cause there would be nothing, having created cause the effect of our actions, give rise to an outcome seeded by that action, it is certain to turn up.
That line of thinking is arrived at by engaging in a lot of study. Not by just listening to a bunch of clearly visible lies...

The notion of reincarnation has been a round a long long time long before the flawed story promoted by the lazy minded clowns forcing it on the people of Australia when the Constitution does not allow for it, and i certainly believe its a load of rubbish.

First and foremost I dont think that the 2 subjects belong in the one question. Completely different to each other.

YES we should all know the Australian National Anthem.. and not just the first bloody verse doh I dont care where someone has come from to get here, they should learn it, and respect it.

Religious Education: I believe that there are many different forms of religion and spirituality. I believe that if we are to teach one, then teach all. Introduce all our children to what it means to be a christian, a hindu, a buddhist, a moslem, an athiest.. etc. I believe that if we start with the children, and develop their understanding of and acceptance of different belief and spiritual systems then we will begin to see a far greater tolerance in our country.

If any person knows the whole of the Australia Fair put their hands up now!!! I only know the first verse.blushing What I do like about it, it very much resembles my spelling. laugh

The full version:
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil,
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in Nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history’s page, let every stage
Advance Australia fair!
In joyful strains then let us sing,
“Advance Australia fair!”

When gallant Cook from Albion sail’d,
To trace wide oceans o’er,
True British courage bore him on,
Till he landed on our shore.
Then here he raised Old England’s flag,
The standard of the brave;
With all her faults we love her still,
“Brittannia rules the wave!”
In joyful strains then let us sing
“Advance Australia fair!”
Beneath our radiant southern Cross,
We’ll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who’ve come across the seas
We’ve boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To advance Australia fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing
“Advance Australia fair!”

While other nations of the globe
Behold us from afar,
We’ll rise to high renown and shine
Like our glorious southern star;
From England, Scotia, Erin’s Isle,
Who come our lot to share,
Let all combine with heart and hand
To advance Australia fair!
In joyful strains then let us sing
“Advance Australia fair!”

Shou’d foreign foe e’er sight our coast,
Or dare a foot to land,
We’ll rouse to arms like sires of yore
To guard our native strand;
Brittannia then shall surely know,
Beyond wide ocean’s roll,
Her sons in fair Australia’s land
Still keep a British soul.
In joyful strains the let us sing
“Advance Australia fair!”
cheers australia

Advance Australia Fair should be taught, thus is the country we live it, it should be the anthem that kids should all know. Any other national anthems should be up to the family to teach.

As for religion, their should be a broad base taught so there is understanding of all religions, not just the christian based ones.

Maybe then there would be more tolerance and possibly less religion based violence and bullying in the future?

I so totally agree with you. We dont teach Easter in schools anymore. They are not even allowed hot cross buns but, other cultures are allowed to practice their religeons and our children are forced to participate. Its sickening really. We should just hand our Country over to the smallest minority. Oh, hang on. Thats us!
