RE: At 44

Rob that is all easier said than done, every person is different and they cope differently. I bet thier is still stuff you dwell or wont let go and therfore cant help but dwell on.

RE: At 44

My mum has had a very hard life which started with an abusive mother, then a abusive husband and then a playboy partner who was cheating on her while she nearly died having my sister and thiers more which l wont go into. Sometimes a person can only take so much Rob. Your not telling me anything l know she dwells to much on it but all of the fight has been taken out of her, so now l fight for her.

RE: At 44

Ive had to battle to save my mother 3 times, when l lost my son, when l lost my boyfriend of 4 years and when she lost a very dear friend. My son was 6 years ago and the other two in the last 18 months. She just gave in and went a severe bout of depression and didnt want to eat, due to that she got a very bad case of shingles. Ive had to fight so hard to get her back. Its been one long hard fight for the last 6 years and the last 18 months have been even worse and lm still having to force her to eat enough. So l know what your saying about the will not to live. Somedays l feel l like l dont have the strength to keep fighting for her but l always find it. She openly admits lm the only reason she is still with us today as l refuse to let her give up.

RE: Eels,slippery litle customers

I have the full set of Uncle Arthurs bedtime stories, mum got me 1 thru 4 when l was about 10 years old and l later bought 5 thru to 8.
No idea what lm going to do with them, if l give them to my daughter her kids will just destroy them.

RE: Eels,slippery litle customers

He was always getting in trouble, another time he and brother got confused about who was picking me up from the bustop. Now thats not so bad except for the fact that it was a 15kms away from home. At about 5.30 mum was wondering where l was and they both looked at each and said l thought you were picking her up. My brother jumps in his car speeds down the road to find lm about 500 metres from home, he had the cheek to tell me to get the car...very mad ...as you can amagine he got the filthiest look and l told where he could stick his car l'd walked 15 kms what was another 500 metres and to make matters worse it was the middle of summer. They never made that mistake again, mum made sure of that...and yes l did eventually speak to them again laugh

Mum went out thier the next morning to find them slithering all over the floor..laugh ...my grandfather hadnt told her they were even in the sink so you could say she got a bit of a surprise. Thats one of the few times l have ever heard her sware and gee did my grandfather cop a mouthfull rolling on the floor laughing

RE: storms

Well it didnt rain at all today and we had sunshine too, so hopefully you will have a nice day tommorow, hope that makes up for the crappy weather l sent your way yesterdaygrin

RE: Eels,slippery litle customers

Yes lve seen it happen before, on one of the properties my parents worked on. The dam broke its banks from so much rain and the paddocks were flooded and they were travelling through the cow tracks. I went eeling with my brother for several days in a row, we were bringing a full sack home each day.
Another time on another property the creek flooded due to all he rain in the mountains surrounding this property and it washed down a heap of huge yabbies, we just walked throught the creek picking up yabbies, they were everywhere and they were the best yabbies we ever tasted. We were able to that for 3 days, we lived off yabbies and had plenty in the freezer. Never saw it happen again though.

RE: Who's up for a bit of craic?

basicly it means to have fun grin

RE: storms

Well if you get our weather, we had a thunderstorm last night and one heck of an electrical storm followed by a heap of rain overnight...so if it hasnt been thier yet, its on it way.

RE: storms

That sounds like my dog but l won he stopped trying to escape once he relized l'd beaten him. He to can work on latchs he now has a great big padbolt on his gate and two layers of sheepyard mesh. He sleeps in a shed with his reinforced wire door, its about the size of you average garden shed but it has been divided in half. Took a while but l beat him in the end...haha

RE: storms

I have an escape artist but he cant chew through sheepyard mesh and the mesh on the ground covered with gravel stops him in his tracks..he cant dig out. He is a Collie, so a working dog like your boy and yes they are very smart but also stoppable with persistance.

RE: storms

You should make him an enclosure with a kennel in it to shut him in when your not home, would probably be cheaper in the long run than pond fees and has to be better than him getting runover on the hwy.

RE: storms

Thiers lightning all around the horizon here and thunder rolling in the background and the air smells lovely and fresh like its going to rain. I was just watering my garden in it, l love watching lightning, especially at night.

RE: serenes randoms

Whats your weather doing? Its just started to thunder here and its gradually getting closeruh oh hope thiers no lightning strikes, lots of undergrowth and grass around here from our wet spring.

RE: serenes randoms

I joined cs about 6 months after my boyfriend of 4 years had passed away. At he time l was feeling really lonely and depressed. But thanks to the forums and the friends l made l soon found myself coming good and then l was lucky enough to meet Tony a few months later. Cs has been very kind to me. RE: Would you like a Christmas card?

Instead of being alone could you perhaps do some volunteer work? Is thier anywhere nearby that feeds the homeless or less fortunate families. Maybe visit an old folks home and read to a resident or just even chat to them, you'd be surprised how many of the dear old souls have absolutley nobody visit them, they'd love it. bouquet
