Have you ever had eggs fresh form the chooks bum as the saying goes Lookin, especailly if they are free range and get plenty of green food. They are best eggs you will ever taste and you would never want your Coles eggs ever again.

I love chooks I use to carry mine round tucked under my arm they are so friendly and as for mess I always kept my chook sheds spotless cause of mice and snakes in the bush. In the suburbs I wouldn't have a roster or a lot of hens not allowed , just 2 or 3 hens and I would let them free range as much as possible. All the girls manure straight into Curlys garden turn the soil Fresh eggs priceless

Mum gave me a dozen incubated chickens to raise, out of them l got 9 hens and 3 roosters. Only kept one of the roosters, he was a big golden coloured rooster, l called him Henry. He was so quiet l would have to pick him up and carry him as he would walk so close to me l use to trip over him Him and his girls would be waiting for me every night when l got home from school from the bus stop, they would wait by the house gate for me. Along with them thier was also the ducks and sitting on the gate post was my beautifull fluffy ginger cat. They did it every night, mum always knew l wasnt far away when they appeared. Those were the days

I know I miss my farm animals but if I get chooks I will lock them up each night as there are a few big cats hanging about of a night just for the safety for the chooks.

Blizzard14u: My list? Yes chooks! Anyone can have chooks but not roosters!
But I have a few fences to build first after I pay for the ones up now!
Then there is the cat and dog that the kid wants? I just want a dog, good for taking for a walk,
I need lawn! Lots off it! And paving!
But I cant complain, life is good but hard at the moment, but I can see the sunshine ahead, owning my own home,
I have the house off harmony now that I have always wanted! Never a cross word spoken!
Everyone contributes too making the home a place of peace and harmony, for all!
I now have a blessed life full off happiness,
Want some advice Blizzard less lawn like maybe hardly any like nil & more paving to break the huge amount of paving up have some sculptures some standing tall and some on your brick wall too , water features , raised garden beds you can buy those cut off galvanized rain water tanks to have a veg garden looks great on paved areas plus can have flowers in them too. Put sails up for shade here and there and a few chairs and table barbi maybe a spar the list is endess go look at some garden features. Believe me lawns are so yesterday. Oh! and a couple of small trees in the paved area Boy I am getting carried away spending your hard earnt cash
