Well I suppose it depends on the type of crash it is..

as far as I know.. they wouldn't open the doors.. until it was either landed (fairly together) in the sea..

Or fairly together on the ground.

You 'could' open them before that... But you might risk making it even worse.. and causing a tragedy when they may have been able to land it... somehow.. someway.

They know what they are doing..

I WOULD listen to what they say..

Mind you.. thats easy to say when you are not IN that situation isn't it.. People do stupid things when they are freaking out.

Well.. when you are seated.. the people who are sat in the seats next to any emergency doors on the plane.. (are checked to make sure they are not children.. disabled.. elderly etc)... and the stewardess tells them.. that IF something happens.. when asked to open the door.. they WILL.. (the instructions are on it)

So THEY will open the doors.. .. and the stewards.. the others.. (If necessary of course)

Trish.. my liver cancer buddy (that died).. She hated flying.. and always wanted to sit at the back of the plane..

I said.. 'What the hell do you want to sit back THERE for... you can't see anything?..


She said.. 'When you watch the news stories of plane crashes... WHICH part of the plane is always intact?? ... the BACK!'

Well I always think.. I hope it happens when we are whizzing along at 500mph.. 30 thousand feet above the ground.. That way.. I will suffocate and be dead before I hit the bottom.

I LOVE flying.. (really!.. LOVE it)..

But it does scare the cr*p out of me too really..

do you know.. sometimes when I go on a trip.. I will do 12 landings/takeoffs.. (to get to my final destination)..

I worked it out a while ago.. I have done almost 100 now..

So I have heard that Information blah blah many times..

and STILL it doesn't sink in..

I must admit, I am so blasé with it now.. I really SHOULD listen each time.

I always hope that if ever the time comes.. it will all appear in my head.
