RE: confused

To meet men online then fix a date. That's what I do

RE: confused

E-mailing and other distance communications are not the same as a face to face meeting. Make time for a meeting as soon as possible before you discover and later regret wasting time over somebody you don't have a future with. I would be impatient to meet too. If you really are into each other you'll meet asap even if it means both at least trying to take a day off work. However be aware that your work schedules may cause trouble in any eventual relationship you might have. The internet is great to kill time but ultimately go for something and someone that's feasible and lives close enough to you.

RE: material people in NY

City life can be isolating. Everybody is too busy consuming to forge relationships. I no longer aspire to that though my nick says I do miss a few things about London. At the same time I am appalled by the coldness I experienced and nothing beats living close to family. Greed is to blame for much unhappiness. You can be happy without the trappings.

What do men and women look for in age gap relationships?

As above.

RE: material people in NY

A lot of cities breed a materialistic culture. Wherever you have an aggregation of luxury shops, businesses paying extraordinary salaries to high execs, a 24/7 culture of consumption it's easy for people to lose sight of the simple things in life and become materialistic. My experience of London is like that. If you're not grounded and have a solid upbringing it's easy to get absorbed in a materialistic lifestyle where everything even people become disposable. Regular breaks to some place where you can experience a simpler life would do you good.

RE: What is your favourite cheese?

Asiago, Pecorino Romano, Pepato, Grana and Parmiggiano

RE: BLIND DATES

when I first joined cs a guy started e-mailing me and we really got along. By the time it came to meet I asked for a pic and was really put off by his looks but it was too late to back out. We ended up in a relationship for two months until I learnt he was cheating but in real life he had so much charisma. Go with an open mind. At worst you'll have made a new friend. Good luck.

Assange victim or predator?

What do you think of the charges brought against him?

Would you live with a man again?

I know the feeling. I gave up my job to go with ex to London. Now I can't find work. It taught me that I have to be selfish in the future and not trust my future in a man's hands again. YOu have my sympathy. When you sacrifice so much and paint yourself ina corner. Now I don't think any man is worth that blind trust I had for my ex. Lesson learnt.

Do you post in the cs forums?

Would you live with a man again?

Hey missha, how did this afternoon go?

HOw many of you are looking but too set in their ways to trust or bother again??

I am actively looking on this site but I enjoy the forums a lot more than searching and I fear I may have become disillusioned, not as ready to sacrifice anything for a relationship and comfortable being single. How many of you feel this way a kind of addiction to cs but along the way it matters less if you meet that someone and are content to be alone?

Would you live with a man again?

If you have ever lived with a man, would you live with another man based on your past experience. My experience was juggling work with unequal distribution of housework and fitness till I burnt out and he dumped me when I fell ill. What's your experience? Is it better to be visiting partners rather than live together?

RE: Double Standards

Yes but would you leave her if you ordered her to quit, she went down to 5 a day and smoked outside?

RE: Double Standards

When my ex and I met we were both smokers. 12 years later he quit smoking and ordered me to quit smoking and left me because I didn't. Also because I was slimmer when we met and put on weight.

Has anyone else here lost their job in the recession?

Thanks all for the good advice. I've no idea what business I could set up on my own. I've considered selling my flat to move to London to look for jobs. However my specialisation there is a niche area and it's not worth losing the property as it's too risky. I'll just keep applying and hope this phase will one day end.

i'm a lawyer too and I have and continue to teach EFL on a seasonal basis just to have some work. I've thought about requalifying, just wouldn't know what to pick because graduate unemployment is rife. Some things like waiting at tables I can't do because I'm clumsy. I have no training in doing manual work so I stick with what I know the mental work. For now I have parents supporting me but I want to see a way out of this situation. I had a very good job which I left to go to London with my ex cause he had lost his and he dumped me when i Lost mine!

there is no market in malta for a certain age group. You're only employable straight out of uni when you can be paid peanuts. it's not much different in other countries. Losing one's job at a certain age can mean you never work again. In the UK there are even laws to protect from age discrimination, employers want cheap, fresh blood.

It's easy to say do this do the other. Fact is I've tried everything and you have to be in the person's shoes and understand the market dynamics. Was at a recruitment agency today where they told me with my experience it's going to be tough the market has no higher openings.
