RE: Are we that much different to animals ??

Apart from domestic cats maybe, I think we are the only creatures that kill for fun.

RE: I have recently "discovered" ...

And you've only just discovered them?doh

RE: I have recently "discovered" ...

Yes I'm sure it can. I've never tried making it myself, but I'd I do I'll use oat milk.

"While kefir is typically made from cow’s milk, it can also be produced from the milk of other animals, such as goats or sheep, or from non-dairy milks."

RE: I have recently "discovered" ...

Kefir, a friend of mine introduced me to it about a year ago. It has many health benefits and is easy to make. Most types of Kefir sold in the shops are made with milk or milk substitutes, but it can be made with water.

We're the only creatures that try to find the meaning of life.

RE: 'On the brink of disaster': Europe's Covid fight takes a turn for the worse

If any of this were true there would have to be thousands in on the 'hoax'.

It's just not credible.

RE: Us Irish, we're the worst..

Yes and I don't think he was too happy about the song.

And Feargal did have a cousin called Kevin, I saw him being interviewed on a programme not long ago. Everthing said about him in the song rings true....poor lad.

Who are they?

RE: Us Irish, we're the worst..

RE: Us Irish, we're the worst..

I think they were from Derry and wanted to make songs about ordinary life away from 'the troubles' which was very much a part of their lives at the time.
It was DJ John Peel who championed them on the radio. He said, Teenage Kicks was the perfect pop song, and his all time favourite.

RE: Us Irish, we're the worst..

The best band to come out of Ireland imo...

The Undertones....applause

RE: Do you dance

5rhythms was created by American dancer Gabriell Roth in the late seventies. 5Rhythms movement spread worldwide, and in 2017 there were 396 certified teachers in 50+ countries.

RE: Music game

Terry Jacks....Seasons in the Sun

Certainly a one hit wonder, it was a worldwide hit in 1974 and then a Christmas number one in the UK for Westlife in1999.

RE: Do you dance

This is the kind of dance I enjoyed every week until lockdown, 5 Rhythms. When shared in a room of up to a 100 people its very powerful. This short video shows each rhythm and explains their meanings.

Google Maps....pics

This is taken at the frozen waterfall...Kinder Downfall. You can just see two figures at the top right hand of the pic and there is one at the bottom waiting to climb and one halfway up the ascent of the ice fall. There are very few places in England where this type of roped ice climbing is possible, and like I said, just under 20 miles from Manchester city centre.

RE: The Gifts Of Life

Thanks, the first bit wasn't a quote though.

RE: The Gifts Of Life

Stay curious, accept uncertainty. From that state of being life flows without constriction......

"The problem with certainty is that is static; it can do little but endlessly reassert itself. Uncertainty, by contrast, is full of unknowns, possibilities, and risk.”

Stephen Batchelor, Confessions of a Buddhist Atheist.

RE: Do you dance

I certainly do.....dancing

But its not for everyone....uh oh

RE: Say Anything

Gal the table top trasher.

laugh

RE: Say Anything

If it shattered into many small pieces it must have been toughened glass which is a legal requirement for table tops anyway.
I've worked with glass, (mainly mirrored glass) for many years, including supplying glass table tops. Depending on the thickness, (10 mm required at least) they are very difficult to break.
I suspect there was some damage to the top which could lead to sudden failure, but that would normally come about in extreme changes in air temperature.
It could though be a manufacturing fault. Small particles of nickel-sulfide can get trapped in the manufacturing process, which can expand and caused the glass to shatter, but this would normally, not always happen in the toughening process.

How do you get on with your next door neighbours btw?...uh oh
