Well I'm off to go soak in a hot bubble bath for a bit...I finally have my a/c back and can tolerate it for more than 5 minutes, so I'm taking full advantage of it
My cousin has crohn's disease. I know he had to change his diet and such. I'll get some info from him and see if I can help any. I hope it's not, it can be life changing in many ways.
I like that idea Ras...Just think of all the money this country would save by not having the impeachment hearings and we bring ours soldiers home safe and sound at last and let those poor excuses for human beings try and figure out how to get out of their own mess that they made. I bet they wouldn't last more than a couple of hours.
There's many things that were left out of the news reports of that day including the fact that many children were killed because they were taken from the daycare center there in the towers in order to "protect them" When the towers collapsed it killed almost all of those children.
The media is censored but I don't that's anything that people don't already know.
Unfortunately there;s that little thing called the "Patriot Act" and it allows Bush to order policed states at any time that he feels like it. Not to mention does anyone realize that with the things he's done in office and the changes he's made, he can actually prevent a new President from coming into office and taking his place!?!
Hmmmmm still think we have a Constitution and a Bill of Rights? I think not
You know it's funny I've been appreciating the small things such as the smell of rain, freshly cut grass, the way lightening comes down from the sky etc. Things have been more vivid and alive for a few years now. Some things never cease to amaze me.
I do have a new determination though and doors have been opened to me that hadn't been previously, or at least hadn't revealed themselves.
We briefly discussed this, but I only knew about the upper West side, I didn't know you lived on the Island. We'll have to talk more about it at some point...We may know some of the same people
They are illusory for the most part, though I do remember a time when SI was still mostly woods. It's now become a mini Brooklyn...Hell even L'Amours moved from Brooklyn to Staten Island ::Yikes::
I think if I slept on the floor, I think you'd be hearing "I slept on the floor and I can't get up"
In reference to your question....Ummm I think all we have to do is look at the place we lived and how screwed up the people around us were...We were doomed from the start, we didn't have a chance
You know the last time I was asked this question was in April of 2006, and I was going through a rough time, and my answer was this...
My heart is long padlocked and the key thrown away into the rivers. It was locked up to prevent all the pieces from falling aside. The only way to keep it still within its confines was to encase it in hard cold steel armor, to shield it from anyone's harm. Whether by slice of the tongue or the slash of a sword it has been shredded to pieces, therefore I must not be too careless, for I'd be sure to come to be harmed. Many have courted and poured out their souls, but I cannot be one to be tied. I am a spirited soul who has always longed to be free, and now that I am forever shall I be.
It's amazing how much has changed since then.
Now it's simply become...
Love me for who I am and don't try to change me into someone I'm not.
I'm not either, but I don't have much choice at the moment. My a/c has been out since Friday night/ Saturday morning and since Monday my office is the coolest room because they brought in a portable a/c unit until they can fix the main one. I'm going to be calling the office and raising hell, because this is far from good for me and I refuse to sleep on this sofa another night it's throwing my neck and back out of alignment. I want my bed dagnabit!
Yes I know Islands have crazy weather...I lived on Staten Island and Long Island, the weather was always different Or was it just the people
RE: Say Something... No need for names, but names are welcome too. Be Nice.
Good Morning Everyone
