My father, grandfather and uncle were part of the local fire department, so for me when I was growing up it was a fun filled day...
My grandfather and father would be riding in the fire trucks in the parade. My grandmother was part of the ladies auxiliary so she would be with them walking in the parade and my uncle would dress up in his gorilla costume just so he could have fun with us kids.
After the parade was over we'd go to one of the state parks and there'd be picnics and events going on all day long. Pony rides, rides on the fire trucks...It was always a lot of fun. I used to be my uncle's shadow because anytime you saw him you'd see me. I never let that gorilla get out of my sight
Thanks for making me remember that...Those are truly cherished memories
If God is everything and everything is God, then God is alive correct? Does that mean that God is selfish as well?
We learn not to be selfish by helping one another. If we were to help one another, then there wouldn't be malnutrition, starvation or homelessness etc. Everyone would have food, shelter and all the essential needs.
The problem that we have today is that people are materialistic and want more than they actually need...Am I wrong?
My point is...Think for yourself and draw your own conclusions and be comfortable with who and what you are. Love yourself for all things good, bad and indifferent. Don't come to a conclusion strickly because of someone elses ideas or ideals...Be your own person and you'll find that you can look at things in a much brighter light and have hope that tomorrow will be a better day than today.
Isaiah 45:6-7 - That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Philippians 2:13 - That energy is God's energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure.
Ephesians 1:20 - All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven,
Mark 5:30 - At the same moment, Jesus felt energy discharging from him. He turned around to the crowd and asked, "Who touched my robe?"
Psalm 97:11 - Light-seeds are planted in the souls of God's people. . .
Romans 15:13 - Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!
Just some thoughts to ponder for the day since I must go to work...
I find it fascinating how energy, light and other things are disregarded; yet it's throughout the bible...These are just a few passages.
Maybe one day everyone will come to the realization that we are all here for a purpose, and that purpose is to teach, to learn, to experience and to evolve to a higher understanding of ourselves without being selfish and self-centered.
I'm not sure there is a most beautiful city. They all have their allure and their highlights. They compliment and contrast each other in various ways.
The foods, the people, the art, the history, the architecture, the smells, the energies, the treasures (big and small), there's so many things that make a city beautiful, I know I couldn't choose just one.
