The two primary relationships I had were 22 years and 7 years. For both it wasn't any one thing that caused the breakup but rather when the bad qualities outweighed the good. It was a huge sigh of relief when I left my husband of 22 years but I was devastated after leaving the 7 year relationship.
For me, dating is a necessary chore until I figure out how to skip that part and go straight to a relationship with someone who is suitable for me (and I for them). I have had countless one drink dates and a few good ones. I remember one date where after we went to the habitat for humanity restore for a screen door and then to ikea to look at kitchens for a house he was remodeling. A+ for creativity.
There are good girls here just as there are good guys. Some people don't realize that the things they post on the forums tell a lot about their character and values and then they wonder why they can't get a date. I'm speaking in general and this is not directed at you, Xander.
How can you determine if someone will make a compatible partner based on a few phone conversations? This is a decision that will affect you for the rest of your life.
