Why give up your friends? Was your friendship based solely on alcohol? Sorry, just puzzled.

I have been sober since June 13,2000. I am not into AA either, but I do believe in one day at a time. I have been to bars, parties and sporting events where booze was consumed in large quantities, and I drank diet cokes and water all night. Even if your friends drink, it doesn't mean you have to. I know there are "slippery" places, but if you want your sobriety, you have to be the one to keep it.
