Do you not have a female friend you can just have the craic with? I know I could always ask a friend, no questions ask, but actually wanted to go on my own and it was great craic, you'll talk to everyone and don't babysit anyone.

Why bother going then? I'm not a big fan of weddings, but went the last 2 times on my own, on one there was a gang of us, but I had a great time on my own not babysitting someone on the second wedding!

No, serious, just google it! Very slowly, I live in NENAGH, which is just down the road from PORTUMNA so pass it often enough. Below an article and the link:

One of the West of Ireland's best known hotels has been extensively damaged by fire.

80 guests and staff were forced to leave the Shannon Oaks Hotel in Portumna, Co Galway, when the blaze broke out shortly after lunchtime.

Fire-fighters from counties Galway and Tipperary fought to get the blaze under control.

A management spokesman said the hotel would remain closed for sometime, but that there was no threat to the 60 jobs.

He said the damage was mainly confined to the kitchen area where the fire broke out.

The hotel in Portumna burned down a couple of month ago, no venue in Portumna for a wedding I can assure you!
