When "him indoors" and I got together, we didnt even know what each other looked like

Maybe you are too focused on what they look like instead of how the person comes across

I know when I put my pic up one night, I had loads of hits

yet when down, strangley enough not so many

Why in goodness name are you on here...what has happend that you havent been dragged off to the wilderness by some hunk by now..or are they intimidated by your beauty..they dont deserve eyes...bloody men ...eh

I, like you, own everything I have, dont owe a penny to anyone. There are too many out ther who want the latest TV, PC etc, cars under their bum even though they could walk to where they need. I see so many people driving a few yards just to drop their kids off

if they got of their bums it would make a difference.

I call them the cornlake families..all gloss and no food for their kids to eat.

In saying that, look at all who travel north or their shopping, it was ridiculous trying to cross the border at Christmas time, it would take over 3 hours to go from Dundalk just to get to Newry, only 10 mile away..all for people going shopping there.
Joke up here at that time was spot the southener...all the booze and bicuits

Priorities come to mind

In my personal opinion , people have only themselves to blame for it. They created lifestyles based on money that they didnt have, borrowed beyond their means. It easy to lay the blame on the Banks, yet they didnt force folks to take credit card after creit card

How many of you see folks with 2 even 3 cars at their houses ...you can only drive one at a time.
It is no different than the 80's ..just bigger numbers

Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this! Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try de-lousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

But with his recklessness in not considering the future, he has put her at risk, for with his infutation with this lass, he ended up lossing his job for taking leave from work unauthorized. Now he is penniless .....
His "desperation" came from an attitude that all Irish women were after his money.

He loves what he thinks she is..someone who needs saving. He doesnt see the ballsy fantastic strong woman she is.
This is a man who fell in love after 2 weeks, nothing wrong with that..more importanly , he had never ever been in a relationship by the age of 40..it was his firsdt relationship..

I do pray that it works out well for him, yet somehow, knowing him..

I have a relative who is..he went to Thailand to have some fun...hired a lass for 2 weeks and then tried to save her by marrying her..Now she is in a worse position that before he saved her..

Do you do it..do you try to save another from their hardship, as you percieve it to be

Or it that plain arrogance or something else
