Sounds like you're better wifey material than I am! Maybe I'd make a good husband! I can take tumble driers apart and fix them, fix a computer and install hardware and software, plumb in a shower and build a brick wall! There isn't much I haven't tried!

some have a small glass fuse just inside the back casing not far from where the wire goes into the back - a bit like the fuse inside an amplifier or playstation. It could be that fuse and they only cost less than £2 for a box of 10 or so in Maplins. What can it hurt to take a look in the back!!!! BBBuuuuuuuuuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I appreciate the reply - that would normally be the way I think but I was thrown off track by the blokes in my family etc and after my negative run ins with certain people on freedating I began to question whether I was doing the right thing by myself and my own children. So thanks for helping me put my 'sensible head' back on as I really don't want to have to start painting my nails all day instead of drilling holes in the wall etc.

Cheers for the boost (didn't write it for that but it is appreciated), but I was curious as I was talking to my own son about this and a couple of his mates (all about 16-18) and my four brothers (between 24 and 44) and they all seem to fancy the same type of girl, long hair, good looks, feminine and girlie - so I obviously got stressed not because of myself as such but also I've brought up my daughters to be independent and always taught them that you don't have to be girlie to be feminine then all the blokes I encounter say the opposite. So I wondered what the general consensus was? My son really hasn't been brought up to be chovanistic or anything so I was beginning to wonder if it was a social thing or whether I was mistaken in the belief that looks don't matter! Do I have to teach my girls to be dolly birds so they can live happily ever after?

I was recently on another site before I signed up to this one and received some unwelcome messages purely because of my photo and the fact I like doing diy etc. I was sending regular messages to one bloke who seemed nice before I had a picture on my profile - as soon as I put the same picture as I have here on he said "I knew you were really a bloke! have you read my profile I like Women!" And this isn't the first time - so if I grow my hair, become all feminine and flaunty would I finally be in with a chance of meeting Prince Charming? I always thought it was what was on the inside that counted but am I living in the stone ages or something? I don't think anyone should change who they are just to get people to like them but on the otherhand it really has given my confidence in myself a kick (to say the least) - can someone explain this to me as I don't try to look like a bloke!!!!

definately bulldog - I will hold you to that! It's time I went to bed and hopefully it'll stay quiet tonight - just had my house cleared again, I live in a modern house on a pagan ceremonial ground with a vortex underneath my stairs - so as you can imagine it's like leaving the gate open to a field of cattle!

I don't mind melting down my jewellery if that'll help! But to be honest a simple arrow in my heart would finish me off! I hide whenever I see cupid flying about!

I'm sure you've gone back to your pint a couple of times and it's been empty or less beer than you thought was in it - so there's only two explanations: 1) in your old age you've forgotten how much of your beer you've drunk or 2) some ghost has drunk it for you! Whatever way you explain it people are going to think you're losing your marbles!

great, lets start with mediumship! Why mediums can pass messages/information about things they would never have known. How they know things about a person including the deepest of secrets without any prior talk. I have a friend that is a very good medium who does what I call remote work - she doesn't even have to know the persons name but can be spot on with the reading!

In that case do you want to buy an acre of land on the moon? This is another profit making rip off I noticed about at Christmas. Who are we to see the land rights to a planet we don't even own.

The only sort of pipe I would want smoked in my house is a peace-pipe! When people 'understand' each other it can also causes conflict if one person does something out of character. As far as I'm concerned I would worry if a partner of mine thought he fully understood me - I don't understand myself half the time so how could someone else think they do?

See every man needs a good woman to hide behind!! But that leads me to ask why so many people are frightened about the thought of life-forms elsewhere, my brother just shakes his head and says "we don't discuss that sort of stuff" - it's the same as peoples reaction to haunted places or ghosts - mankind frightens me more than spaceships!

For a start if you totally understood someone life would be too predictable - I suppose that's great for people who want the pipe and slippers job and tick their lives over together. But being spontaneous is definately not something you can understand or predict - so the answer is simple - do you want boring or do you want that air of wonder? I know what I'd prefer!

To be honest, can't remember off hand too many details about it but I know for sure there was suggestion of alien intervention - as I'm into paranormal stuff I once had a very heavy research session on the basis of these drawings and also the possibility of intervention in the egyptian period as well with some paranormal investigators - but getting back to the point I truly don't think we can be the only life-form - in some respects a lot of spiritualist/mediums believe that when our physical body ends our soul moves onto a different world existing as a frequency based entity. Has anyone seen the film Contact? That sort of describes this theory.

It doesn't matter how small our planet is mankind will never learn to respect it and then we send things into space and scatter the debris over the universe possibly destroying any forms of life on these stars. Sometimes I wonder if we were all originally from a much larger planet which we destroyed, there's drawings from the Inca's that suggest there were once space ships that landed - and I can't believe that in this vast universe this one planet can be the only one that sustains life - it may be it is not life forms as we know them at present. Who's to say and to be honest if man knew for sure I don't think they'd exist for too long as as a race; we are not very good at preserving life-forms as such.
