RE: Iranian President Ahmadinejad at the UN......

That would be nice but we are the host country for any UN member so - no can do.

One good reason to send the UN packing to some European or African country so we don't have to have dickheads like him in the USA.

RE: my working mans senses are tingling... The Federal Reserve is responsibile

And I'm beginning to wonder if we, the taxpayers, should be paying for all these failures.

Let the financial companies fail and then move on.

The dollar isn't gonna be worth squat at the rate we are printing money.

Is it right to buy a baby.

This is a very difficult question. My first thought is yes if you are saving a life. How could you not. But if this is a "baby factory" then you are caught between a rock and a hard place. It seems that each situation is unique and should be graded on its merits.

RE: Republicans trick people into voting for them

Yes, the President writes a budget bill every year but Congress adjusts it to their liking and then returns said bill for a signature or veto. With the Dems controlling Congress now having BHO in office will give them a blank check to spend, spend, spend. Just what the country needs - more debt.

RE: Republicans trick people into voting for them

In other words, BHO is trying to buy our votes. How nice, and it isn't even his money.

WhatUwish4,

You are talking to an imbecile of epic proportions. It is fruitless to try and pound anything into his head as it is harder that rock.

It is nice of you to catalog all that clinton info. I had no idea how widespread the corruption was.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Yes, invading Iraq was one of the dumbest ideas anyone ever came up with. Besides the money look at all the lives lost or ruined.

RE: Palin Rocks, McCain Rolls, Barack who?

Here is an interesting turn of events:
******************************************************

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.

In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

Could this be the end of the USA as we know it?

RE: Are the Dems so scared of Palin that...

Speaking of Russia - their market is hurting today.

***************************************************
Russian shares suffered their steepest one-day fall in more than a decade on Tuesday, losing up to 20 per cent, as a sharp slide in oil prices and difficult money market conditions triggered a rush to sell.

The heads of the Russian central bank, the finance ministry and the financial market regulator met on Tuesday night for an emergency discussion on ways to halt the crisis.

Earlier, trading had been suspended on both the Micex and RTS stock exchanges as investors ignored assurances by Russian officials and a cycle of distrust set in amid liquidity fears.

Margin calls forced domestic traders to liquidate positions and brokers pulled credit lines. At least one Moscow bank failed to meet payments.

The ruble-denominated Micex Index closed 17.75 per cent down, the sharpest one-day drop since the August 1998 financial crisis, while the dollar-denominated RTS index closed down 11.47 per cent, its lowest level since January 2006.
**************************************************

If oil prices keep falling they will be back to needing all the oil revenue they can get and the pipeline in Georgia will say open no matter what the EU does.

Me either - there are anti candidate posts aplenty.

BTW Jimmo65, I liked your post above giving some reasonable arguments for your stance. handshake

RE: John McCain first, Country second... American Presidency a journey of personal discovery

Do you think he is pandering? Sounds like he'll say or do whatever it takes to get elected.

When a poll shows him on the wrong side of an issue he changes sides. Look at off-shore drilling. First he was against it, now he favors it. His stance on anything is in constant flux.

Excellent post. I new he was new to Congress but 143 days is too new to be POTUS.
Why doesn't the media jump on this? Could they be biased. NEVER in a million years.

I heard up to 20,000 stayed behind on Galveston Island. Their seawall is only 17'. I'd be gone in a heartbeat.

RE: IKE

Some of this in untrue. FEMA and TX have chartered 1,000s of buses to provide free transportation out of danger and to shelters where there are free meals and medical attention. The people who don't leave have no excuse. Shelters in San Antonio are set up for 10,000 people and buses have been running from the coast to SA since Thursday. They even have the means to accommodate pets. This is true throughout TX.

RE: Obama falling to pieces

I wish it were that simple.

Get rid of every Congressperson 1st then give anyone (and I mean anyone) a chance on the ballot for President. Ditch the Electoral College and go with the popular vote. The system we have now was great 200 years ago but not now IMHO.
