RE: Countdown

I am here, but not often.

RE: SUP people!

Hi! I remember you!

RE: Hell Hath No Fury.....

I love that song! While I wouldn't actually do any of the things in the song, it is fun to think about carving my name into his leather seats.

I think the best revenge is to move on and be happier than you were when you were with him!

RE: Iambic Pentameter

Peaches abound in the South, I sing!
But regretfully, there are a lot that cling!

RE: No fighting about this please..

May God Bless your son and all of his fellow soldiers. I am proud of our great country and even prouder of the young men and women, like your son, willing to make sacrifices so that we can have all of the things we take for granted. I hope he returns to you soon. You should be so proud!

RE: pics on profiles

I like reading the profiles. Many times, I get my laugh for the day. I love the ones where the person has taken a chance and let their humor show.

I must admit at one time I would judge a person by whether or not there were misspelled words in their profile. Now, I have lightened up. I figure it has as much to do with the typing as anything else.

RE: So, what's the smartest thing you've done?

I was thinking the same thing. I thought relationships in Alabama got a little weird!

RE: So, what's the smartest thing you've done?

thumbs up

RE: New years resolutions...whats are yours?

This year's resolution is to not make a resolution. I just set myself up for failure.

RE: False Advertising

LOL! Maybe I need to do a little "cropping".

RE: False Advertising

My primary picture was taken in September and the other one was taken about a year ago. Sorry, no true confessions here!

AT&T - BellSouth Merger - A good thing?

Yeah, there are going to be jobs that will be eliminated because of the duplication. However, most of those will be in middle and upper management, not in the non-management ranks. There will be separation offers that should be pretty good. The thing that counteracts that, though, is that they are going to "repatriate" 3,000 jobs that were out-sourced to India. That means that 3,000 people who previously lost their jobs without a severance package will be re-hired. A little give and take.

RE: What's your middle name

Sue (typical southern gal - Bobbie Sue)

AT&T - BellSouth Merger - A good thing?

As a manager of a Customer Service unit, I appreciate your feedback. It lets me know we still have work to do to improve our image. Hopefully, the merger will allow the development of new technology. Also, there are plans for the telcos to offer competition to the local cable companies. Who knows? It might be a very good thing for consumers.

AT&T - BellSouth Merger - A good thing?

As a former, and current, employee of BellSouth, I was pleased to hear that the FCC finally gave the go ahead for AT&T & BellSouth to merge. I am looking at it from an employee perspective as well as that of a stock holder.

I am curious to know what others think about it.

RE: Bush's legacy.

I don't have a clue what Saddam Hussein and/or his followers intended to do or what they had the capability of doing. What I do know is that allowing our country to be attacked without any retribution would have been incomprehensible.

I don't profess to be a history scholar. I am not usually politically vocal. And, I don't desire a heated debate. I have voiced my opinion. I stand by it. And, I stand by your right to have your's.

RE: Bush's legacy.

Thank you! I feel that it is important to speak what you believe. If others don't agree, they don't agree. Thank God you and I live in a country where we have the right to speak aloud what we believe.

RE: Bush's legacy.

Since the beginning of time, wars have been fought over religion. In my country, we have freedom to worship as we choose. In Iraq, where 97% of the population is Muslim, it is acceptable to "dispose of" anyone who does not have the same beliefs as the Muslims.

Some rogue Muslims have declared they will rule the world. Their attacks on U S soil were the beginning of their plans to conquer all countries.

I am glad, for your sake, that you can sit in Canada and judge our president. I am glad you have that right. What worries me is that you don't seem to fear the possiblity of a religious war being fought on your soil.

No, our troops have not located any weapons of mass distruction. Yes, too many people have died on Iraqi soil. Sadly, many of them were young men and women from my country. My heart and prayers go out to them and their families. They died so that I could sleep at night not worrying that a bomb might hit the house where my son, daughter-in-law and grandson live. I don't have to constantly fear going to work and wondering if the rest of my family could be killed in an air attack.

I hate war. I wish that there were civil men and women who ran all countries and that differences could be handled by sitting down and coming to a mutual agreement. Just like marriages, that isn't going to always happen.

Has President Bush done everything right? Probably not. But, I am certainly glad that he made the decision to have this war fought in Irag instead of in this country.

RE: Finish this sentence...

1. u=v in Latin

Barney
= cute purple dinasaur
= cvte pvrple dinasavr

2. Take all the Roman numerals out

CVte pVrpLe DInasaVr

3. D=500, C=100, L=50, V=5, I=1

C + V + V + L + D + I + V
= 100 + 5 + 5 + 50 + 500 + 1 + 5
= 666

(Stole this from some stupid website that said there was proof that Barney was evil.)

Will you ever remarry?

Oooooohhhh! I love that one!

Will you ever remarry?

I can't tell if you really posted to the wrong thread or if you were choosing the updated version of "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?" theory.

Will you ever remarry?

I haven't really thought of it as giving up. I have just been wondering if working women like myself are destined to be married at this point in life. But, good for your Mother! I hope # 3 is good to her and they have a long and happy life together.

Will you ever remarry?

I have been married and divorced twice. The last divorce was 2 1/2 years ago. Recently, I have begun to wonder if there is an "expiration date" on a woman's marriage material status.

I haven't tried to be in any serious relationships since the last divorce because I wanted to be sure I was ok being me. I am also not the type to feels "I must get married". But, it has crossed my mind that maybe my expiration date has expired.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of another marriage in your future?

RE: Forums do change,

I haven't dropped in for a while now. Thought I would say hello and this seemed as good a thread as any. I miss swapping tales with you guys/gals. I just haven't had much time to devote to the PC. Hope you all had a wonder turkey day! (If you celebrate it where you live.)

RE: It's been great

Good luck, Earl. Wishes for a long and happy life for you and your special lady.

Friends with benefits

UPDATE. We are still friends. We talk almost every night about everything under the sun. No emotional attachments, so far. Good friendship with no strings attached. It can work. Just thought you all might want to know. (And, yes, the benefits are there from time to time since neither of us is currently seeing anyone.)

RE: older women vs younger men

I married my second husband when I was 31. He had just turned 25. We had a wonderful 10 year marriage. The only problem is that it lasted 22 years. I should have gotten out while the getting was good. But, I waited until he had fooled around enough and I was over 50. He is now remarried to someone younger.

I loved being with him and I think the marriage would have lasted forever had he dated more women before we got married. So, younger men wouldn't bother me at this age. (Of course, younger at this age could still put them in their 40's.)

RE: If you could move anywhere...

I absolutely love living in Alabama. Contrary to popular belief, we aren't all related. We have 4 seasons, even though we don't get snow very often. (Good thing since everyone runs out to buy milk & bread if there is mention of a flurry and then they all act like they forgot how to drive.) But, the people are friendly, the climate is nice most of the year. In my dreams, I live on a tropical island. In my heart, I will always live in Alabama.

My Home's in Alabama.....

Well, ya'll come back now, ya hear?

RE: Are Looks Important ? Lets find Out.

Oh, Jean, I totally agree about the guys who send you love notes right away. What I was talking about were the men and women who show such passion about topics (both serious and frivolous) in the forums. Their passion shines through in their written word. Granted, not everyone has perfect spelling, grammar, sentence structure, etc. But, their ability to articulate their feelings sometimes melts my heart.
