Smartive i can assure you that not everyone in Alberta is super rich!!! The cost of living out there can drive tears in your eyes and the cost of food and other things is right up there! The holiday "family day" is just another day same as the civic holiday which not every company accepts and works on that day. It would be nice if the family day was a holiday all over canada but what can ya do! But then on the other hand how many more of these "No real meaning" holidays do we need? I mean there is a grandparent day secretary day earth day friends day and so on. What the heck for? Why do we need a SPECIAL day to honor and cherish these people or things? Shouldn't we do that every single day???? What a waste of time honestly. Lets stick with the basics such as new years, easter, first of july, remembrance day, thanks giving and christmas and the other holiday i can't think of and be done with it. Make it equal for everyone all over the country and good is.
2006 was not a good year for me. In august i left my husband in september my dog got run over on the highway, in october my fav. grandmother died in november i got screwed big time by the government in december i got into an accident and hit a deer which caused 2400 $ in damage. 2007 started out the same with my alternator dying and me getting stuck on the side of the road and 180$ i could not afford to spend. February looked a little better and March was ok too but then i met my boyfriend online and things are looking very good now! I am happy with who i am because i am losing weight i have a man who "loves ME" and my kids are healthy what more can i ask for? Sure a bag of money would be nice but i guess i can't have my cake and eat it too hu? lol
Live is good now and i am enjoying it for the first time in 6 years! So in other words i am HAPPY!!!!
Thanks gals! Well i just thought everyone should be made aware of the every day dangers that lurk around corners which we don't even think of! But you can rest assured that i will not ever go to my sisters place again without checking first if the keys out of the atv's are removed. I don't wish an experience like that onto my worst enemy, honestly!
Also a word to the people here who enjoy offroading and such! Now is the time when parties are happening and booze is going to flow plenty! Please be responsible and don't drink and drive! It does not matter if car or quad or trike or dirt bike! Enjoy the summer and be safe. I don't want to hear or read that one of you got killed or badly injured because of drunk driving. Be smart, be sober, be safe!
I had one hell of a scare put into me and i want you all to be aware of the danger that atv's can be!
My oldest son decided to sneak off and climb onto the quad at my sisters place. The key was in the offroad vehicle and he knew how to start the damn thing. Since it is an automatic it was in gear and my son hit the throttle hard. He managed to turn the quad around but in the turn he hit the throttle even harder ended up on 2 wheels and rolled the machine over. He was so lucky that he turned the quad around where the old grainery stood and the atv hit the wall in an angle and with that was stopped and didn't roll over completely. My son (5 years) got trapped under the quad. He scraped his face open on the gravel and after x-ray's were taken at the selkirk hospital we found out that thank god nothing was broken. He got away with a big scare and a few bruises and scratches.
I am telling you all if you have kids make sure that if there are atv's around the keys are taken out of them. I can not stress the point enough! Keep your kids safe cause one of those damn things could have cost my son his life if it wasn't for the grainery he would be dead today! Teach your kids responsibility around machines like that. Make sure they know it is not a toy!! I have told my son many times but the curiosity got the better of him and my brother in law was careless enough to leave the keys in the atv even though there were kids around! I am left now paying 600$ to fix that damn atv when i really want to do nothing more then to take a sledge hammer and bust it up even more so nobody can ever get hurt again!
I hope your kids don't ever get hurt like that. My boy was lucky to get away with only a few scratches, cause as i said it could have ended a lot worse! Take care all and be safe!
The tip started out as a gratuity for good service! A reward if you will. To have to audacity and add it on automatically is straight out rude and i would have not paid a tip right of the get go!
My take on the whole thing is this. It should be up to the people to decide if they want to give a tip or not. I for one don't get anything free and even for work well done i don't get a tip as a cleaner or a truck driver and just because some woman/man is a waiter and run around all day to serve people i am not about to pay a tip. Every job out there is in one way or another to serve others and why doesn't a bus driver get a tip or the cashier at the supermarket? Should we add on a tip there too???
No! I don't get nothing for free so i don't give anything for free! I pay what i owe and leave the restaurant. I tell the waiter if the food was good or the service was great and be done with it.
I may sound cheap but that is not the point really. As someone said it is the job that those people chose and i am not responsible to stock up their wages!!! And with everything getting more and more expensive these days and us not making any more money who can really afford to basically throw away their money? Not me!
Ok guys and gals! I finally have a response from Maintenance! They called me back and said that there was a mistake in the entry of dates in their computer. The person who entered the dates given by the judge entered it as a 1 instead of a 7. So the money is on the way. Thank you all so much for explaining it helped a lot and i have an idea what to expect. hugs to all of ya
Thank you canadian angel i was about to type that when i read your answer. Yes guys are the same they don't answer either! I have 6 unopened messages in my mailbox for the last month so i deleted them. Guys are just as disrespectful not just women!
Well i got at least somewhat good news! I can go and apply for the course that i want to take in the fall! I am going to take applied counseling and that course starts in October. My daycare is covered completely and also my traveling expenses. Which is great!
But still have not heard anything from maintenance i still can't get through the line is always busy! Thanks for all your support you guys are the best! hugs to all of you
I totally agree with you when it comes to the government! When i first left my husband i had to apply for income assistance and i went into the office there and spoke to the secretary. Well that woman gave me a look like i had three horns or something and when i told her that i needed help she just gave me lip. Rude, unfriendly and totally disrespectful was her way of dealing with me. I was standing in front of that counter with my boys and i felt like sh.t!!! I told her that i needed money and she acted like i was asking her personally for a loan out of her own pocket. For crying out loud i paid into that damn fund for years and supported millions of others of which a big percentage are just to damn lazy to work get the money every month no questions asked. But i wanted a better life for me and my kids and she gives me attitude? I have never ever in my life felt so degraded and useless as i did standing there begging for money. She made me feel like i was scum! I went and reported her because if you look at it i did pay her wages just like you guys do and i don't have to put up with that kind of crap! Needles to say that woman no longer greets people at the counter! She has been removed and is working out of a very dark corner in the office. It took me a little to collect myself and actually do something against that woman but i did and she had to suffer for it. But the government screws us in many ways so lets keep banging our heads a little more, it might help
Well the thing is the payment which was due on the 22nd of april i have not received! Thats the one sitting in Maintenances account. Yes today is the 30th so i should have gotten it a few days ago! Not on the first or 2nd of the following month! I mean i honestly have limited funds and then i have to wait for the little bit of money that i get? It is really frustrating!
Hey guys i have a question! My Ex has to pay child support through maintenance enforcement which was ordered by the judge handling our case. Anyhow there is no problem with my Ex paying but with maintenance sending the money to me!!! The courts ordered that i'd be paid on each 8th and 22nd of the month. Which is fine! But ever since my Ex put the money through direct payment into maintenance's account it takes for ever to get to me! The amount is sitting in their account since the 25th of the month but it has not been send out to me! Have you experienced anything like that? What did you do? I tried calling them and left messages but i never get anywhere. I am so frustrated! Maintenance is supposed to help not screw me! But i guess thats the government for ya.
weather is great here! supposed to hit 20 degrees today sunny and the trees are almost green! Well some of them. But good god was it ever hot on thursday 27 degrees and i had to work in that heat! Did i ever mention that i hate summer? And for that matter i hate ticks and mosquitoes too!!!!
Hey guys! I hate to disagree but you are not an orphan! You have had your parents during childhood you have learned and lived with them you have received their love and their lessons. You enjoyed having them in your life and miss them when they are gone but you are not an orphan! Why? Simple! Dieing is part of life and ultimately we are alone in this world eventually. But only if you let yourself think that way! Your parents and other family members live on! In you! If you keep them in your heart and in your mind locked away the memories of good and bad times of love and hope of tears and joy and of simple being with them then you will never be alone! In spirit they are close to you! And just because you can't see them does not mean they are not there. They are with you and so again you are not alone. To me an orphan is a child who's parents left him and walked away. A child who was never loved or accepted in the circle of that family. Someone who does not know their heritage their family history or where they come from. If you know all that and more then you are not an orphan because you know love from your parents. Don't know if that makes much sense to you all but thats just the way i think. Because family never dies they live on in you!

I have to say i believe that we have soul mates and now you can call me crazy or whacked but i believe they come in all forms not just in human form. On august 19th 2006 my dog Roxy got killed on the highway in front of my sisters place. I swear that that animal was my soulmate. She knew when i felt down and came for comfort she knew when i was sick and laid down beside me to keep me warm. She cuddled close and licked the tears of my face when i cried. But it was much than that. She was my best friend and the keeper of all of my secrets and pains. She was there for me when nobody else was! Now you are maybe thinking that woman is crazy or something like that but i am really not! My family has had dogs all my life and never have i felt that kind of a connection with any of them as i have felt with my dog Roxy. She was one of a kind and one of a million! I strongly believe that our soulmates can come to us in many shapes and forms but they do find us or we find them. It is also said that through out the many lives our soul travels we will always connect with our soulmate! No matter in which life we are somehow our other half is going to find us or we them to spend what ever time is given to us together! So yes Grace i do believe that you will find your soulmate again! If not in this lifetime then in the next! But up until such time you will not be without love. You will find someone to love and be happy with!

If you all look back in the past and remember the people you have known no matter for how long or short you will always find something that you either liked about that person or disliked. Either one you learned out of that experience with that person. You learned the characteristics and his/ her behavior and again no matter if it was negative or positive you learned something about that person which enriched you knowledge of people in general. You might find some of that one persons behavior in other people and know how to react. Every situation in life and every act through out time leaves an impression on us and we apply many things that we have learned from others in the future. So yes i believe that we learn from every person we meet in our life and if it is just a man holding the door open for us but we have never met him. It is an act of kindness and we are inclined to return the favor. We learned that kindness still exists.

Well i was not in a hurry to get into a relationship but i took the time meeting people and such. I was really ready to give up this website thing when i read the profile of a guy who had the same interests as me liked and disliked the same things but had no picture and was on 6 peoples favorite lists. Normally i would never write a person like that but something drove me to write him. Still to this day i have no idea why i did it. Anyhow we talked on the phone for hours and finally met. It wasn't love at first site but he was so sweet and kind and caring that i honest to god fell for him. Hard! It feels right i feel comfortable with him i don't have to pretend to be something i am not. He accepts me for who i am, even the few pounds extra which i have don't bother him. He likes my kids and things are going really great. We are not rushing anything just letting everything fall into place.
What i am trying to say is that not everyone here is rushing. We are taking the time and believe it or not but we both feel like we have known each other for years. It is really strange. I don't just want a relationship i want a friendship as well as a relationship and we are working on that first. I mean ok i can't help it and have to cuddle him and kiss him but that does not mean that i am going to jump into bed with him right away even though i am almost at the point to throw all my morals out the window and hump him like a god damn rabbit. But no worries it will happen when the time is right, no rush no pressure and no expectations what that is concerned. Laters all!
Update! Well yesterday he came out for a visit and to meet the kids. The kids didn't seem to mind him and he like my little rascals too. It was a nice afternoon spend together and we get along great! He is coming out for another visit on Saturday and then i will have him all day!
They only trouble is that if you tell them that and they don't understand what you are saying and keep mailing you. But you know what guys? I mean i am the last person to be prejudice really! But i think if you live in a country where there is another language spoken you should put an effort into it to learn that language and be able to write somewhat comprehensively! I don't mean to sound rude really that is not my intention. But i was in the same boat! I hardly knew English when i came here from Germany and i learned within the first year enough to communicate what i needed and that in a manner that people had no problem understanding me. I never did go to school here i learned everything on my own. Reading, writing and talking. So what i am getting at is that those people should first learn the language in which they want to communicate to a point where someone could understand them. And then go and write to people because i would think that those guys get a lot more responses on their mails if their English wasn't so broken.
I would say that, watching your language around people and thanking someone if they open the door for you is just common courtesy to say thanks. If someone smiles at you and you smile back or if someone picks something up for you when you dropped it that again is common courtesy. That in my eyes does not mean that you give a darn what they think. I thought you were getting at opinions.
That if someone walked up to you and said "hey man you pants kind of are ugly lookin" or "gee can't you go and get a haircut?" Stuff like that, if a friend or someone i know would say that i would probably care but a stranger i wouldn't.
So in other words courtesies are not really what people think of you because you could be a street bum and people would still hold the door open for you. They don't say anything but they do notice you. If you were a bum and they would make rude or polite comments then that would be an opinion and those are the ones that either matter to you or don't. Thats what i was getting at.
Well since i am a hopeless romantic i love romance stories!
If anyone is into that sort of thing i can only recommend the Dark-Hunter, Dream-Hunter series by Sherilyn Kenyon.
Why do i like the series? Well it all fits perfectly together. Characters from a previous book are mentioned in the next and the one after that. The story flows and is unique. Especially the parts where the greek gods come in a lot of her stories about them is based on true facts and then worked into the story. As i said i can just recommend it really!
