For a long,long time righties in U.S.tried to say the whole thing was b.s. Now they claim its caused by something like little green men etc.
A lot of right wing evangelists claimed in 2000 Jan.1 we would have a disaster and they would become prophets . Nothing happened so they went to plan B- pretend they never said anything! It worked!
Afghanistan and west Pakistan has been composed of tribes and war lords for hundreds of years. No country could really conquer it- nothing but tribes and warriors who switch sides at the drop of a hat.
