I have mixed feelings when I read about the verdict of Bill Cosby last night. First off he is very old, second he truly symbolized the most ideal father like persona each of us had come to admire and emulate during the early 80s and on.
But in reality, I can't ever fathom what he has done and how he did it. Most evil act of manipulating and abusing his victims.
I mean, was he all that good on projecting the kind of a person as a dad and as a husband on his show just to please us for money?
I am so sad for his victims and yes, he deserves to pay the price and even that is not enough.
Now that is a good reason why you wouldn't do it M4. I don't want you to lose your shirt. I have seen so many who are so remorseful for what they do. Google our local Casino near San Francisco. It is called Graton Casino. They just built it 5 years ago and as big and elaborate as Las Vegas. Heck it is always packed because of the big Asian Community in the Bay Area.
Before this was built, there is about 2 hours drive to get to them Indian Casinos, now this one is built right in the heart of a big city 56 miles north of Frisco.
What makes you a winner Pedro is your discipline. You set up the amount and win or lose you leave. Most people I know that gamble keeps breaking their bank just for the hope of getting back their losses.
I am like you, although I go there only four times a year. I set up my limit and if it is gone, I stop.
Absolutely Lee, that is why I don't do it for the hope of winning.
I lose most of the time, but the feelings of entertainment it provides me is well spent.
I take the whole trip value for what it cost me. I always have fun. Eating at the Revolving restaurant on Top of the Stratosphere, and walking down the strip as well as the shows. I am, like I said, doing it just to get away.
M4, I don't enjoy the slots because of the fact that I never win, but like I said my mom won from the 5x 5x 5x quarter and it was fun. Long time ago. On Pai Gao which is my only table game, it is fun to get the cards and set it up skillfully and hope to win. It takes a long time to lose money, depending on how much per deal but there are many casinos which starts with $5.00 dollars minimum up to $300. Vegas has it set up generally from $25 to $10,000.00
I was sitting next to a couple from Texas and their minimum bet was 5 grand each deal at two deals for each. After 3 hours of playing they walked out with 40 grand. Sheesh, I thought to myself, I wish I were that lucky.
"Gandhi also explains that someone who cannot use violence to defend themselves or their family is a helpless coward and a "worm.""
That means that while he advocates the method of practicing non violence to create a positive impact, he does resort to violence for defense when necessary.
I would never hesitate to use violence if that is the only last chance I have to live and protect my family.
Very idealistic principle Rob. Realistically, there are always those that are violent prone people.
Those that have mental imbalance and let us face it, we are people of emotions and we tend to go by our feelings more than our reasons or logic. To be able to practice non violence, while ideal, it doesn't seem to fit 100 percent on humans that are imperfectly created, my two cents.
My suggestion is to have a very strict gun law regulations but not to completely alter our constitutional law by stripping out the right to own gun. Since it is a right, there must be some serious consideration as to who can own one and not. Part of that is to examine the mental fitness of anyone who owns a gun and even with that it is not a total foul proof because we can never tell when one loses his or her mind.
To sum it up, there will always be crimes but gun control in the sense of completely getting rid of the right to own one is not the solution.
