Because people don't like to take risk.....they first want to see if it works for someone else and then MAYBE they will move out of their comfort zones a little.
There are leaders and there are followers.........Leaders take a chance and dance close to the fire....followers wait for the fire to dwindle some and then they move in closer.....
I'm in "customer service".........you should hear how some of my customers talk to me. Having worked with the public for most of my adult life, knowing how to handle such situations takes patience, empathy and a great deal of tongue biting. This week alone, I have been cursed at least 5 times...had a guys finger wagging in my face once......and called a liar and stupid more times than I'd like to count. Some employees just aren't up for the job...and should consider a change of employement. It's frustrating work....I tend to think of it as a thesis in the making...........
I might add....public schools are mandated by state rules and regulations....testing and such.....the schools get paid so much for each child in attendance....and get better grants if the kids do better on achievement tests.
Public schools are designed to not allow our children to actually think for themselves. They teach subjects that are boring and seldom require much thought....just repetition. It is a way to classify kids, from early on, into social status...by testing and the grading system.

The last weird dream I had that I can remember was a few nights ago......I was in it, my daughter was in it.......we were out in a field with a bunch of people.......there were two rows of lights...like bowling lanes...with bowling pins at the ends.....they were using flares as the bowling balls, shooting them down the alleys of lights.........WEIRD......I woke up and thought....WTF?.............
Can't speak for all women....just this woman.....I got rid of three a**hole....now I have the greatest guy ever...........I could give reasons why some women go for the "a**hole" but....I'm too damned tired.....if you really want to know, mail me.........
The funny thing about these four customers..........by the time they left, they were apologising to me. You see, I've learned a few tricks in life......you let em vent, and then you get logical....you never yell back and add fuel to the fire. You have to remember that it really isn't YOU they are pissed at, you're just the one that is the middle man. It's still frustrating and makes me angry...but I NEVER let them see it. Of the 4 angry, frustrated customers....I was able to rectify the problems they were having....
But don't think for one minute I didn't think about cursing them, or breaking their fingers.....
Go to work today....the building had been painted inside over the past couple of days....the fumes were what you could call, intoxicating....nauseating.....At least 4 of us got sick with headaches, stomach aches, dizziness.....and there were only 5 of us working......I spent 11 1/2 hours in that building. Ok, so if that isn't bad enough, we get a company wide email that says "be considerate of your co-workers, don't over-due it on perfume and cologne"........WTF???? Can't wear perfume, but we can sit in a building full of fumes...causing us to all get sick, but they don't consider that enough to close the place down and air it out............
And then there were the 4 wonderful, sweet customers that decided to take their frustrations and anger out on me. I was cursed, unmercifully......yelled at....fingers shaken in my face....
It is a fine balancing act......I work full time, go to school full time and have a full time, live in boyfriend....He knows I love him and he doesn't question my order of priorities....it is what it is....
But to answer your question....that would anoy me if somebody was so demanding of my time, and tried to make me feel guilty for having other important things in my life besides him. What Lova said, insecurities.....that's a key factor there.
