Ah, an "ology" question.....I find they can be very informative and stimulating,....or they digress into a troll war....this one being a climatology/geology/meteorology type question,.... I work in this field.....and the discussions are complex.....and I am certainly willing to discuss.....but you did not post a question with a stance....make a stand....and let's go from there....are we entering a new Ice Age? Are you a fan of the Milancovitch cycle theory? Come on.....postulate. and then throw out a hypothesis to debate!
Jim is indeed talented! Hilarious? Most of the time he truly his (but he has had some less than stellar moments). And yes,...I have seen EVERYTHING he has done. An Oscar? Put your complaints to the Academy....they judge on factors not related to hilarity or box office gross,....the are a clique......Jim has done okay with People's Choice and the Globes.....but the Oscars are a tricky "nut to crack". Closest I ever thought he come was in Cable Guy....had Hitchcock directed him.....maybe....anyways.....its all Academy politics....who cares? I just watch the Oscars for the "who died", the comedy, and the possible nip-slip or other amazing costume (thanks Cher, Geena Davis....etc)
Frustrating? Hell no!!! This site is not only free, but this is where I met the love of my life.....who is picking way TOO many raspberries...ain't no room anywhere in the freezer(s) for anything for the raspberries! Bottom line...there is NO site that will hook you up....its just another opportunity to meet! (And lordy,...there are some true trolls here, and some of the best people I have ever met!)

Yes,....they have no critters that harm them there and they did have concerns regarding bears and wolves and cougars.....thank goodness they have no knowledge of lemmings.....or Canadian beaver!)

To the OP - uh,...you have to choose.....23 hours of SC is just that....ain't no hard labour......in order for the sentence of hard labour to work.....you cannot be confined. How about the lash? Why not Capital punishment? You seem to wish an decry SEVERE punishment,...and YES,....I agree Rolf must be punished,.....and (and now brace yourselves) given an opportunity to seek rehabilitation,.....(and no....I ain't no softie.....)
Should it be a capital offence? No. His "victims" live....plain and simple....yes, what he did was unbelievably wrong, but it WAS NOT a capital offence (unless you turn him loose in GP in prison....that is a different style of justice)....I read the judges deliberations....he evidently had a hard time deliberating....I would not have wished to pass sentence.....but, based on his credentials, I would grant his sentence a QUALIFIED sentence. If you disagree, do not hammer me - file a civil suit of appeal....spend your time, rightly or wrongly, trying to deem him a dangerous offender.....

A reflection upon technological dependence,,,,,this question was also asked of television,....and of radio.....it is a dependence on the technology that "drives" our society,.....to a young child in drought stricken Africa,....with no access to advanced technology,....the world's reality becomes a drink of potable water......reality is simply what you perceive it to be.
Indeed....and every woman is a child as well. As I have aged I have come to realize that my parents, and my grandparents,....were humans who were children who learned to accept the "responsibilities" of life...but were no less the children we all wish we could remain. And my praise to those rare few who as they age remember to embrace to sheer joy of life that is so innate to children....imagine for just a moment what the world would be like if children ruled?
EC Nope,...just ask those you mentioned how ABSOLUTELY PUNITIVE the religions of their day were,....Galileo, Newton, Cpoernicus....religion, ESPECIALLY the Roman Catholic Church,...is retrograde and should be punished for many of their stances,....
