Interesting human behavirors, and even some animals do it. In us lots of types/reasons----Sadness, fear, loss, irritant (onions), manipulative, pain, movies, medical problem, even crocodile. Supposedly women do so more than men.
We've all heard the urban myths. They know what each other thinks, even at great distances. As kids, they develop their own private language. And so on. But it it all true?

In fact, we have a Maine tradition of Yard/Garage sales (Marche aux Puce), Hold them to have others get nice stuff from us on the chaeap, and visit them in season. Firnished my rental units almost completely this fashion, for cents on the dollar. Also, Salvation Army and Goodwill shoppes. And pK, you are a little scary. Good that way.

My ex, mother of our twin girls, taught them lots of good useful stuff. I try to teach them about investing, and the value of education and a good career, as does mom some. But they are both wise shoppers. Three blouses for the price of one sort of stuff. I'm hopeless here.

Mother of the girls. I agree, that the forties are not ideal for a first pregnancy, but she's a marathon lady, and a serious black belt holder in Tae Kwon Do Karate. Nuff said. But bot older dad's and moms carry increasd risks of problems.
Of course you are right Pk. As with breast feeding. Here in the states, until recently, up to a quarter of births in some places were CS's, probably far too many. Pressure from nurse midwives, GP's, Pediatricians, public health folks and others have finally reversed the trend. Active research might show that early exposure to mom's bacteria by natural birthing sets the immune system so as to avoid the recent Rise in various auto immune diseases. The microbiome is part of us.
Reading a doggie medical book, saw that vets do both. Each of course can be life saving in its own way, and both come with small but real risks. Our twins were CS's , with mom quite in shape but at rish for being in mid forties. So I thought I'd bring up the topic, among all the titillating blogs, forums and poetry.
They say a mom's instincts and bravery in protecting her kids is unparalelled. Just read about a mom here who's car was carjacked with her kids in it. She was packing, in the glove compartment, and ran around to open the door on the other side, and courageoudsly got out the piece. Left the crap head with two in the hat---now he's in critical condition, probably on our taxpayers' dimes. Same while in prison, unless hopefully he doesn't make it. Kids, mom anf SUV all OK. A woman's wrath...

For starters, why waste a perfectly happy and compatible couple on the institution? But here in the USA, if you must, the legal age is typically 18, but in many states, under certain circumstances, typically 14. The youngest on record was, of course, in an Appalacian State (Tennessee---surprised, not WV?) at only 10 years, almost 2 decades ago--no loger possible. In other places, some marriages at this young age, typically for females, is still allowed, often under arrangements by families. The thirties are likely a good time, as still can have children, tend to be more mature and setttled, and have heard all the lines, and met one's share of Arseholes.
Thanks, all. Many grounded comments, as so often. Well, I was, as always, merely expressing my druthers and experience. Of course exceptions follow any generalizations. But as I write, I think of a Prof. , a veterinarian, mid forties, whom I took home from a public health faculty/student party On my Honda years ago. I was much younger, but she was wonderful, except for her terminal alcoholism.
Some men seem to get off on having a much younger thing on the arm. Well, perhaps there's merit in it. But in terms of the important things, Older women have always done it for me. Maturity seems to trump most items. Conversation, life experience, street smarts, education---formal or otherwise, groundedness, and so on. Being a mom, if done well, brings much for a man with it too, as long as enabling and codependency isn't part of the bundle. As to intimacy, while I was much younger, the ladies 10 or 30 years my elder were the absolute bomb, with rare exceptions. But as I age, will this still hold, as many say of European females?
Seems as though the proof is in the CS blog/forum puddinghare, as to the differences detween cat fights, and those among us men. Many good, thoughtful postings, Thanks. But I feel driven to expand the discussion. I also think that, while it's true that some women like seeing men fight, often those gracing the lower S.E.S strata, and boxing is watched overwhelmingly by us knuckle dragging fellows---I posit that most real men find cat fights completely IRRESISTABLE!
